Walt in Disneyland - a collector piece

I was just browsing a catalogue for a recent auction and found this:



Wonderful color 12 x 16 photo of Disney posing with Mickey Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and several other characters, nicely signed in black felt tip, “Best wishes, Walt Disney.” Photo is affixed to an identical size piece of heavy stock cardboard and matted to an overall size of 16 x 20. Signature dates from approximately 1964-1966. Since Disney studio publicity photos were mostly in black and white, and most signed photos of Disney are studio publicity photos, color signed photos of Walt Disney are extremely rare. In fine condition, with scattered surface marks and dings, a couple small areas of color touch-up to photo, a few light creases.

He sold for $7200!

I have to say, it's a great photo and one I would be proud to hang on my wall! You can see his pride in all he had accomplished, shining in his face, surrounded by other familiar faces at Disneyland.

The auction also had a signature and pencil drawing of Mickey done by Walt. That sold for $12,000!
