Post Keep the model of Disneyland on Opening Day?

Do you guys love the model of Disneyland on opening day as much as I do?

If the Mr. Lincoln exhibet returns, should the scale model of the Nation's Capitol return to the foyer? Or should Disney keep the model of Disneyland on opening day?

Oh, that is a hard one. I think the model of the Nations capitol would be more fitting with Mr. Lincoln. Shoot, it's Disneyland why can't they do both....

I don't really think there's room for both, they each took up most of the foyer in front of the theater entrance.

Develop a whole new attraction and sell the model on eBay with the Disney-auctions account.

    Hmm...

Bring back Mr. Lincoln, maybe turn it into the Hall of Presidents instead...

Stick the Disneyland model in the Disney Gallery.

I like the model of the park a lot, and I think they should keep it...although I think it would be better suited for the Disney Gallery.

The model of our nation's capitol fits better with the Lincoln attraction...

I heard the purchase order on the construction of that model was for over a million dollars, including salaries for people building it and the research and materials. So I hope it doesn't go on Ebay for $20,000 to some nerdy collector.

If it's removed from Main St, I'd rather it go to Disney Gallery or Disneyland Hotel or someplace on the Disney property.

I like the idea of Hall of Presidents coming to Main Street but unless the next President of the United States has a really good relationship with Mr. Iger, I don't think he or she's going to be represented at a Disneyland attraction.

If it returns it should all go! However, they might want to replace The Walt Disney Story with the current exhibit and keep Lincoln like before the 50th!

I think I know which one you're talking about. Isn't that the one where they were selling mini replicas of the park by sections only? Each time I went up there, they had a few added to the park. The model in the Opera House now is completely different. Too big to have fit in the gallery upstairs of PotC.

Since there are two empty rooms where Walt's offices used to be, why not A) return at least one of the offices, and B) put the Disneyland model into the other room? I don't know if there will be room for people to walk around the model or not. If not, the model could be angled up so that we can get a sort of bird's eye view at least.

Re: Keep the model of Disneyland on Opening Day?

The exhibit would never fit in the Disney Gallery. But I'm sure they could find another place to display it. It's a GREAT exhibit, but when Lincoln returns, it just won't be themed correctly.

Re: Keep the model of Disneyland on Opening Day?

I'd say put it in the Disney Gallery, where the model would fit in appropriately, however, the space just isn't there.

The Opening Day model is very impressive, and shouldn't just be put in storage somewhere, but ultimately, it has no place in a show about Abraham Lincoln.

I say find somewhere else that is appropriate for the Opening Day model and bring back the Capitol model if Lincoln ever does return. The only problem would be to find an appropriate and big enough room for the Opening Day model.
