For the last five years of this decade, Disneyland hasn't got the best new attractions like it has in past decades. If you look at the timeline, we have nothing really to show for it except the 50th Anniversary Celebration. Alot of these are my viewpoints and those of many other individuals.
Autopia: not really a new attraction, just a combination of the old ones, new cars, and a new queue.
A short-lived "45 years parade" that was considered not very good.
A new parade called "Parade of the Stars" which had some moments was a good parade.
"Believe, there's Magic in the Stars", a great new fireworks show.
Club Buzz Stage: A terrible replacement to the previous Tomorrowland Stage, with a show entitled "Calling all Buzz Scouts". The stage has never been recieved well.
A newly revised "Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln" which has not been very liked compared to the original and the first revisement.
The only thing new to this year was the fantasyland theater show entitled "Mickey's Detective School" which replaced the well recieved Animazement.
The disliked "Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh", a clone of the Disneyworld attraction, very cheaply created.
"Snow White: An Enchanting Musical", a worthy Fantasyland show.
Many attractions such as Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean, Jungle Cruise, etc. recieved refurbishments and revisions for the 50th anniversary celebration.
"Remember...Dreams Come True", described as a spectacular new fireworks show.
"Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years", a good exhibit and film on the history of Disneyland.
A new Space Mountain that imagineers say will be really fun and a great addition.
"Happiest Faces" collages and "Hidden 50's" which adds to the fun of the celebration.
A decorated new castle which looks amazingly beautiful.
"Walt Disney's Parade of Dreams", to many, it's your typical average parade and is a good parade, nothing special.
"Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters", a clone of Disneyworld's, it is a good ride and a good addition.
I know that we are a little over half into the decade, but I hope we get something really big in the next 4 and a half years. Just think if the 50th anniversary wasn't this decade, then we would really have nothing to show for it. What do you think, do you think this has been a slow decade?
