The camo netting has been up for almost a month now. I sure wish that they would rebuild Cascase Peak. I loved that the old tunnels from the Mine Train through Nature's Wilderness were kept as "atmosphere" in Frontierland.

I was listening to the Mark Twain Riverboat audio and started to wonder how they would alter the speil? How will the Mark Twain character explain the Pirate's Lair? Or will they mess things up even more and take the Twain narration out of the boat audio?

    Re: Tom Sawyer's Island Progress

Just a quick update from yesterday...Feb 12. Not much happening, but I did come across a couple of items...

    1) The stuff on the dock has been cleared off:

    And

    2) I found that the gate on the fort had been opened. Inside the gate I saw...

    Here's a closer look...

    Closer still...

Maybe UPS is beginning to deliver Pirate goodies?

They want this all to get done quickly! But guess what happens in Spring! RAIN. Wonder how they will work through that.

    Re: Tom Sawyer's Island Progress

So...I thought I would give it another shot today, Feb 13 and FINALLY found some signs of life on the Island.

Not sure who these guys were, but they took a raft over at around 4:15 pm and had a lengthy conversation pointing at several areas around the Fantasmic stage:

    Here's their raft:

I wouldn't worry much about rain. So Cal isn't exactly Seattle, maxes out at about 11in of rainfall per year i think. They may hit other snags, but rain is unlikely to be one of them.

    Re: Tom Sawyer's Island Progress

thanks for all the updates! With the help of Micechat when we went to book our Christmas trip at AAA we again amazed the booking agent with knowledge of what is going on at the park. It is really funny that the people booking the stuff don't know about makeovers, year of a million dreams, etc. Oh well, come December we will see all the new makeovers!
    thanks again

Those guys your friend saw was my father who happens to be Tech 1 said it was just a walk through with big wigs from the enterainment dept from studios and they were just check area where shows are to be placed. That's all that they were there for that day.

    - He saw several Cast members/Imagineers(?) departing from the dock under the Hungry Bear Restaurant on Rafts and carrying Laptops with them.

    - All of the rope fence barriers on the front of the Island where Fantasmic is normally performed have been removed

    - Along Big thunder Trail at the pond is, where the old cave from MTTNWL is there is now scaffolding. Will they finally repair the damage done to the cave?

Discussing the changes He noted that it will probably be very difficult for Disney to hide anything during construction on the Island and that this should be a pretty interesting couple of months as we watch the changes from the shoreline.
