It does need to be retested if it is going to be put in (which remains to be seen) for two reasons; 1. there are many grandfathered laws that the island no longer has the luxory of enjoying, and 2. it has been sitting in a stationary position by the old cabin for months now, and it may not be usuable anymore.

Grandfather doesn't expire because you work on something on the other side of the island

If the bridges are made of wood (which might rot or be attacked by bugs) I hope they retest the weight often.

    I'm just sayin'

Grandfather does expire when work is done on something, seeing as the bridge is about a quarter mile from its original location, I would say work has been done on it. Also, seeing as it is so far from its original moorings, and in fact floating in another section of the river, having everyone get on would be a very poor idea.

They are adding a bunch of shipwreck stuffs on either side of where the bridge used to be, they moved the bridge and tied it off on the other side of the island. Since then it has been looking worse and worse, many don't think it will return do to the sad state its in.

We are all kinda hoping they just build a new one.

I would say it is comparable, especially if the bridges were rebuilt/replaced (Which I have no idea, I am just speculating as to why water dummies may be there.) Just because the bridges are not high tech, I would hope very much so they are tested extensively for weight limits, stress tests, etc....They see hard use as well, just like the lift systems on Splash.
