    Tom Sawyer's Island Progress

I was just phoned by Gemini Cricket who is at the park today. It seems they have wasted no time in getting to work on the renovation/retheme of TSI.

    Gemini Cricket informed me that:

    - He saw several Cast members/Imagineers(?) departing from the dock under the Hungry Bear Restaurant on Rafts and carrying Laptops with them.

    - All of the rope fence barriers on the front of the Island where Fantasmic is normally performed have been removed

    - Along Big thunder Trail at the pond is, where the old cave from MTTNWL is there is now scaffolding. Will they finally repair the damage done to the cave?

Discussing the changes He noted that it will probably be very difficult for Disney to hide anything during construction on the Island and that this should be a pretty interesting couple of months as we watch the changes from the shoreline.

Yeah, I noticed that scaffolding went up over where the old Nature's Wonderland cave was, before it caved that is. It's covered with that leaf netting stuff; reminded me of a paintball fort I've seen before. But it sure is great seeing that the area is being addressed.

It's very true that there's not much hope for secrecy on TSI. That means there are now three stops on the mandatory photo update route.

I shot these yesterday as I was looking for evidence that work had begun. All I got was one lousy ladder. .

Here are a few from yesterday:

Great to know that things are going quickly. It seems that Disneyland will be all shiny and new this Summer with Pirate Island (will we call it PI now??? ... or stick to TSI/PI???), Finding Nemo ... what looks like fixing the MTTNW area on Big Thunder Trail ... and Splash all fixed up. I can't wait!

I love that they used a quote from The Adventures of Tom Sawyer to be a public announcement of what is to come on the Island.

How can a sign be a loophole? Do you mean that they are baiting us with promises of keeping to the Mark Twain stories and then WHAMO!?
