Gorgeous shots, Milo...thank you for sharing! But, what was your setting? I'm not that good with my digital camera yet.

I find that adjusting the ISO from 100/200/400 determines how bright the picture will look.
That's what I tend to mess around with the most.

Most digital cameras have a nighttime mode. I actually have been programming settings
individually with varying results. There's no right answer actually.

Re: Night Shots in the Park

Beautiful shots, just gorgeous! Let me also add my thanks for the tip on the gorillapod, I've just ordered one on ebay and look forward to using it and learning how to use my Canon to (hopefully) get similar results you are getting in your night shots.

Great! Can't wait to see how your shots turn out.
Be sure to use the timer or remote switch when you take your shots with the tripod.

Re: Night Shots in the Park

Great shots!!

And great advice on shooting with the timer at night, I never thought about that.

I recently just bought a Canon SD800 IS and finally got to try it out at Disneyland last week. I definitely want to buy one of these pods!!
I wish I had it for the shots below.
Here's two shots I took, at night, last week:

With 1600 ISO (grainy......)

This one was with Night Portrait Mode

Great photos milo! Just wish instead of you and your gorillapod being able to photograph this:
