Looks like the flood Al Lutz talked about on January 9th had an impact to the lagoon after all. Thank you for the pictures Darkbeer!

Why did they drain it again?

I think the pipe placed near the Alternative viewing room that has been visible for about a month was a BIG hint!!!

This pipe is CLEARLY a replacement pipe, and would clearly interfere with the pathways for guests if they let it remain in place....

    Awesome pictures as always Darkbeer.

Quick Question (cause you always seem full of answers) with the water gone how are the workers able to walk on the 'surface' of the lagoon without disturbing the looks and such? What is it made out of that makes it so permanent and solid?

Remember: the lagoon filling was a test. THe pipe was one thing they needed to fix, but they were planning on this downtime as well.
The Disneyland Railroad also closed to allow access to the lagoon by heavy equipment during the downtine.
    Final stages, now!

    Thanks for the update Darkbeer.

It caught me off guard when I saw the lagoon was empty today...

I'm hoping there will be some soft openings when I'm there in early May.

I sure hope they are going to recycle that water back into the lagoon when they refill it. We haven't had a necessarily big rainy season so far this year...

We will be there in early may as well. Hope they will be doing soft openings also! Thanks for the pictures as always.

Our revels now are ended. These our actors, As I foretold you, were all spirits and Are melted into air, into thin air: And, like the baseless fabric of this vision, The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces, The solemn temples, the great globe itself, Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve And, like this insubstantial pageant faded, Leave not a rack behind. Thanks for a great photo update! The colors and the coral and such are so bright! I know they said they were using special paints and such, but do you think they will stay this colorful over the years? I sure can't wait to see it!
