Earlier tonight as we were about to ride Rockin' Space Mountain, almandot realized that now that the lights are on, it should theoretically be possible to see the Peoplemover track inside the ride. We tried looking for it as we rode and we all thought we saw it but weren't entirely sure.
Being the giant geeks we are, we knew there was in fact one way to tell exactly where the track should be... The Space Mountain model in the Opera House! And that's exactly where we went next on this quest. As we huddled over the model, studying it and baffling CM's and guests alike inside the Opera house, almandot devised his own way of figuring out where it was, but to me is was simply to your left in the middle of the 4th turn, or 2nd right turn.
Even though it was already 11:30 pm, we knew we wouldn't be able to sleep unless we actually saw it for certain so we headed back, this time applying the knowledge we'd just attained. Lo and behold, we saw it! Clear as day! Twice nonetheless. It appears right to your left during said turn and actually can be seen again above you when you come all the way around (6th turn). As we arrived back to the loading area, apparently an imminent cascade prompted us back into the ride, so almandot and I did what any Micechatter would do. We pulled out our cameras!
This is my attempt. You may have to look a bit, but it's right dead center.
Interesting little tidbit. You might want to take a look for yourself before the Rockin' overlay is taken down.
Now to find the Peoplemover track inside Astro Blasters...
