    Re: star cade

My memory is foggy but I believe they closed it in the late 90s when they decided not to have any video games that were violent. They moved everything that was left to the bottom floor and it has been shuttered ever since.

The X-Wing still hangs proud inside though.

IF they ever do re-open the people mover (or something in its place), that entire upper deck would need some set dressing of some sort.

the toy story funhouse was where the pizza port outside dining is now with a few games located inside. the green army men obstacle course was up the ramp where the space mountain fastpass and standby lines split, and hamm's all doll revue was set up directly out front where the entrance to the restaraunt is now

That "tred mill thing" you mention used to be used extensively throughout Disneyland, primarily in Tomorrowland at the entrance to the queue for SM -- and at the exit as well, the Peoplemover, and the Monorail. The only one that is currently in existence is at the exit to HM.

The "tred mill thing" really deserves a thread in and of itself. This was the Disneyland version of an escalator. They were really special because after walking all day, if you put your foot on the very edge of the tred, your foot would go over the rollers and you would get a foot massage! This still happens on HM, although that one doesn't do it as much as the others did.

Thanks for bringing back that memory!

The Starcade isn't operated by Disney.

An operating participant leases the lower floor.
