    I agree with KISSman, each person can skew the numbers to play into their own beliefs. I did it in my initial post I'm sure, even though I was trying to be fair. It's just human nature. Even Disney has an opinion.

    In fact, let's use Disney's own guidemaps from the six American parks to see how many attraction they consider each park to have. By my count, using guidemaps from early 2007 for all parks, Disney came up with the following figures for park features listed as "ATTRACTIONS";

    Disneyland: 57 Attractions
    Disney's California Adventure: 34 Attractions

    Disneyland Resort Total: 91 Attractions

    Magic Kingdom: 45 Attractions
    Epcot: 19 Attractions
    Disney-MGM Studios: 18 Attractions
    Animal Kingdom: 22 Attractions

    Walt Disney World Total: 104 Attractions

    That "official Disney guidemap" total I just tallied up surprised me even more than the figures I came up with myself in the beginning of this thread.

    The way they count attractions in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World is a bit messed up in my opinion.

    Epcot has far more to do than just 19 attractions. If I remember correctly, they count each pavillion in the World Showcase as one attraction. And then they list the activities you can do in each. So while there may only be 19 attractions, it certainly has more to do than say MGM-Studios or Animal Kingdom.

    Also, I find it ridiculous that they count every single show in MGM-Studios as an attraction. In reality, only those that offer continuous performances non-stop should be considered attractions. I mean c'mon, Fantasmic as an attraction? Not counting the shows, MGM Studios has around 10 real attractions.

    Animal Kingdom's attraction list is by far the most blatant attempt at making a half day park seem big and full of attractions. I know from experience that Animal Kingdom does not have 22 attractions; though my second favorite park at Walt Disney World, Epcot (which is shown to have 19 attractions) offers a whole lot more to do. They count the T-Rex skeleton and the carnival games as attractions for crying out loud! And even the Boneyard too, a small sandbox type playground for kids. In my opinion, it should pass a certain level of quality before it is considered an attraction. Take Tom Sawyer Island for example. It is highly themed and contains that Disney magic. That's the kind of walkthrough attraction that actually deserves to be listed, as well as the beautiful animal trails in Animal Kingdom. I think the Conservation Station area should be counted as an attraction, but not into 3 different attractions like on the map (especially not the petting zoo).
