More than two Iced Teas should require you be fitted with training wheels!

A few years ago, we spent New Years Eve at a bar in San Diego that served a martini in those giant glasses you sometimes see at Cost Plus. (They're about 5 times normal size.) Their rule was: This drink is recommended to be shared by several people. If only ONE person insists on drinking it, that person must first agree to give their car keys to the bartender and wear a helmet. WooHoo!

"Yesterday, a man walked up to me and said, 'Isn't it a shame that Walt Disney couldn't be here to see this?' and I said, "He did see this, that's why it's here."

They have the best margaritas...Would you classify the cove bar as an "E" ticket?

The bartenders are also good sports...they'll make me the weird and wonderful from the "Black Book"; Alien Urine Sample, Smelly Cat, Gangrene, Jamaican 10 Speed, Surf Rat, Purple Martini...just to name a few.
    A wonderful place...with wonderful castmembers...

Lobster nachos?!?!? That sounds freaky. Gotta try it!!!!

How does this bar compare with the Hearthstone bar in GCH? Do they have a decent selection of wines or will I need to go over to the Golden Vine for that? (well, I'd prefer the wine cellar beneath Hook's Point or the lounge in Napa Rose) But it sounds like I've gotta try it.

I dunno about their wine selection... I prefer my liquor of the hard variety!

Thanks for the tip about the pizza! Man I'm getting hungry just hearing about all these delectables. Yes indeed, a hard liquor fan! There is a drink like long island ice tea (which if done right tastes like tea) only this one is made with gin over ice, two lemon twists and two pearl onions. Let it sit 5 minutes and it tastes like spring water. You'll love it!

Say there UvaGirl, it sounds like you know the offerings there pretty well. Do they have any beers on draft besides the usual Bud, coors, miller? Give me Boddingtons, Newcastle, or a nice IPA! Beer makes an excellent chaser to tequila shots. Especially Kona beer from Hawaii.

My wife & I used to be annual passholders for years before we moved to the land of ice, snow and radiation aka Colorado. We are coming back for a visit in April and staying at the GCH. Nice to know there are other watering holes to be had.

Does the bar serve fresh oysters on the half shell still? Or is that a thing of the past?

Its my most favorite thing at DCA. Lobster nachos are the best, and the margaritas do totally rock.
