    Rainbow colored water...

Most of us know of the glow in the dark water from the caves in the ride Rainbow ridge.... and the Calico mine ride at knotts, they use blacklights to illuminate the water, but does anyone know how they get the different colors? is it a special dye? and does anyone know where I could get some?

I believe it's just lights, I was evacuated on the ride not too long ago for some reason and the work lights went off while we we're on the ride...The bottom of where the water is painted bright white, and theres a lightinside the water which than illuminates the whole area making the water look that color...I may be wrong but from what I saw work lights on & off this is what it looked like..sorry if i couldnt be of any more help...for the dye try asking them It's Knott's...Not Disneyland, and i'm sure their not all secretive about things like that as disneyland is :P

Wildfire, a company that makes professional black lights makes a dye that you can put in water to make it glow, we used to inject it into IV bags at the haunted house I work at

If you want different color water that will GLOW in blacklight, just break open a couple of different color highlighters, and put the wick in some water and wait a few hours. That water will glow like crazy!

Cloud X in the "boiling pot" room with colored lights. The lake in the caverns has hand stamp dye. (Yep the one Fishy likes the smell of.) And black lights.

I have a dvd on this extinct attraction and I remember the discussion on how they did the colored water and I do not think it is only lighting. I will have to check it out again.

Well, I know that BTMRR is not real water, it is just a screen with lights shining on it, but Knott's and Rainbow Ridge mine train used real water with some sort of glowing dye under blacklights.
