Does anyone know the hourly capacity?
Does anyone know the hourly capacity?
multiply however many trains of four there were by 60 and you'll have an approximation(the 60 isn't the number of minutes in an hour, i got that by 4 cars of 4 people per train, so 16 people, with a ride duration of 16 minutes. so 64 people per 64 minutes, ~60 people per 60 minutes. 60 people x # of trains on the track at a time = hourly capacity)
wdw's TTA has 32 trains with 5 cars per train and only a 10 minute ride length(ha! something at disneyland was more spacious! booyah!)... so theirs is ([5 x 4] x [60/10]) x 32 = 120 x 32 = 3,840 riders/hr.
Their top speed is 6.8mph ours was 2mph and the track sizes are different so it's not really comparible to guess how many trains were on the track. But 32 trains on our peoplemover would only mean ~2,048 riders/hr.
//I'm pulling all of this out of my arse based from calculations on the wikipedia stats, so I mean take what you will from it![]()

Close to 5000 people per hour. http://www.peopleforthepeoplemover.org/info/
Disney FAQ#275: What is DCA?
DCA stands for Disney Construction Area. All the Cast Members are themed with hard hats and steel toed boots.
That would put it in the range of 75 trains on the track at a time... O_o I guess that's possible
75 TRAINS!!! I don't think so. I can't imagine 75. That would be a friggin' maintenance nightmare.

Currently raising funds for the AMAZING Give Kids The World for their annual Coasting for Kids event. Any amount would go a long way in helping a family enjoy an amazing Orlando vacation. You can donate on my page.

No wonder they called it "The PeopleEater" If for no other reason than the sheer capacity this ride should be resurrected. Imagine how much more walking space there would be.
Extinct Attractions Club calculated about 4600 people per hour (still blowing Pirates and Haunted Mansion out of the water in terms of capacity). There were at least 52 trains.
Wow... If Disney opens something as capacious, there are all sorts of ways the company could encourage utilization and concurrently grow park attendance.
Imagine a double decker Peoplemover...that's over 9000 people per hour![]()
