No love for the awesome Alice in Wonderland redo?!

Frankly, I'm surprised that more people aren't talking about these upgrades. As far as dark ride updates, they're pretty significant. From my recent visit, there was a WHOLE LOT of love poured into the revamped Alice. It's really quite amazing.

First off, everything's been freshly painted and touched up. Everything's brighter, sharper, weirder. First off are TWO (2!) brand new fully animated Cheshire Cat heads done with the same kinda high definition projector stuff that's used all over the Hunny Hunt attraction in Tokyo. This is much smaller scale, but still very vibrant and beautifully integrated. The smoking caterpillar now breathes out working 'smoke' and has it form in full-color full-motion high definition animated letters. It's absolutely awesome, and is the best this effect has ever looked.

Did I mention that every single flower AA is working, mouths all synced to the Golden Afternoon? This is the first time I've seen it working it over 10 years.

As everyone has mentioned, there is a brand new (again, fully animated) hedgehog-as-a-bouncy-ball sequence, but they still haven't lit that new scrim they obviously installed. I'm guessing it will be lit up to match the vista of the Queen of Heart's castle and her Red Rose garden (which is the next scene.) Anyone know about what they're testing on those new scrims?

And finally, the trippy descent to the "Merry Unbirthday" now also has an upgraded projection: a brand new, fully animated "cloud circle thing" , surrounding the Cheshire Cat's laughing (and rocking) disembodied head.

Nice Disney!!! These are the wonderful SMALL BUT IMPORTANT details I remember of the Disney parks of my youth. with the upgrades, Alice is a serious contendor to tie with Peter Pan for best Fantasyland dark ride. Regardless, it's now the most high-tech ride by a very large margin. And it DESERVES it!!!

Wow! When did they do this? I do remember it being down last year for an extended amount of time, but I didn't get to go on Alice (or *any* of the fantasyland dark rides for that matter) last time me and my friends went to Disneyland. I'll have to pull them on it next time. ^^

Is it just me or does everyone get on that ride with big smiles on their faces, but get off looking.... sorrowful?

I like the ride and am going in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to see the improvements.

I've been on it last year. The only things I saw cause I hear it was the Chestercat and the A E I O U part. I'm not really a Alice in Wonderland fan at all. Mad Hatter and Dee & Dum are but the only once I some what like. Infact I don't have anything of Alice but from the 100 years of Disney from McDonald's and the reason why I have her in that is. Because the pacit that she came in was all white and you couldn't tell what you got.

It is this sort of unannounced, low-key continuous improving that makes a Disney park a Disney park. Hurrah.

    Total love here...

As I've posted in the past, these fully animated projections are gorgeous - and bring another dimension of life to the ride. This is what makes Disneyland great!

Thanks whomever was behind these upgrades!

I'd love to see more fully animated projection in the other rides. Mr. Toad and Pooh, in particular, could benefit immensely.

My favorite ride was already great. I haven't seen the changes for myself yet but I am excited for them.

I was just on it two weeks ago and didn't notice anything! Except that the cards weren't marching - again.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!
