startours4ever owed me a Valentine's Day dinner, so with some cajoling, I got him to make reservations for Napa Rose at 6:30
In the meantime, we headed out to the parks at opening to get a good amount of time in before we'd have to head home early (college students). Oddly enough, the park was open from 8 am to midnight...maybe it was because of the cheerleaders (thanks for the warning guys...NOT!)...though we didn't end up having any screaming little girls on any attractions we visited, so it was cool.
Due to a recent thread about Alice in Wonderland, that was one of the first attractions we went to, after Rockin' and Matterhorn (which we missed on our last trip).
Unfortunately, it was down, and a bunch of male technicians around checking stuff out, and a female CM talking to someone via some type of radio inside the attraction.
So we decided to go on Storybook Land Canal Boats to wait it out (and I love the attraction anyway).
Waiting in the queue attempting to take cute pictures...hehe ^_^ That's a new haircut, btw
To quote my boyfriend: "GINGIVITIS!"
We rode Alice a little bit after, though no pictures came out![]()
Next we headed over to Adventureland, then New Orleans Square.
You have to admire this architecture. Absolutely beautiful. My dream house would be a southern mansion (minus the racism that accompanied it).

I don't know how to upload that image here, it's a picture my bf took of the newer POTC handle...
Barbossa gets no respect it seems. All other portraits remain unscathed, but he's the target of a lot grafitti.
Barbossa is sad
I am Thunder, hear me roar!
Uh...could someone explain to me why we have dinosaur toys in Adventureland? Not that I would mind having a dinosaur attraction, but we don't really (excluding the short Primeval World...but that's not in Adventureland).
We saw Billy in NOS chatting with one of the jazz players, and like a dream come true (we both respect him very much), we got to chat with him and got to take a picture!
I've never seen this guy before...and it made me long for the subs even moreAt least there's a tribute to him
So a little while later, we headed over to the Grand Californian and waited in the Napa Rose loungeI apologize for the blurriness of the images...I didn't want to use flash to disturb the other guests.
We had the waiter Saucy, and he was absolutely wonderfulI've never been in such a nice restaraunt before, and I truly felt like royalty there.
We had the Asian sampler for two, and all I can say is...wow.
We kind of attacked the platter and realized halfway through the lemongrass chicken that we hadn't taken a picture, so that chicken was actually much bigger![]()
We both ordered the duck. The top of the duck was a little too salty for me, but past that I loved it, and my boyfriend engulfed his.
For dessert, I had an apple crust and filling type deal, with walnut ice cream and an apple wafer on the top. I truly fell in love with this...and the fact that it kind of looks like a mouse made me laugh.
My boyfriend had the winter pear cheesecake with blue cheese ice cream and sugar candy ribbon accent. Though I get sick eating blue cheese, it wasn't overpowering, and accented the cheesecake perfectly.
Overall, the meal and service was excellent, and although this was naturally a pricey meal for a college student, my boyfriend feels that it was worth every penny. If anything, we're going to try to come here for dessert when we can.
After that delicious meal, we went into the lobby of the hotel and fell in love even more. I've decided that for my 21st birthday, we'll be making a stay there, and I'll be able to try some nice wines
After that, we went on Soarin'. We had a rather peculiar incident...the show room seemed heavily understaffed (two CMs...isn't it suppsed to at least be 3?). It took forever to get everyone seated, and when everyone finally was, there was some weird mechanical issue with the middle row, so the two CMs took forever looking and chatting about what to do, and then they made the middle row unbuckle themselves, played the loop of the ending, and then had them rebuckle. This whole thing took about 15 minutes, and then we were finally able to begin our ride.
In any case, it was a practially perfect trip
Hope you enjoyed our TR!
