How long did it take for the new Pirates to wear off? and Monsters? I figure wait for a month or two before attempting to ride - Submarines was not a quick ride to get on period - Nemo will be the same - a lot of little kids and crying for the long wait - sounds like the wait for Dumbo, and the crying kids in that line!

Any tips for people waiting in long lines?- Besides getting FASTPASS!

Not even THINK about going on the ride until sometime in the fall/winter when I know the park is dead. See what I have been doing is making note in my dayrunner anytime someone on this board or my friends go to the park and say "man the place was dead today" I have about 3 or 4 notations in my book and it looks like the park is pretty dead mid week mid month Oct and Nov. Soooo there ya go...

New Pirates still hasn't worn off. On a busy day, it's not uncommon to see the extended queue filling all of the lower section of NOS.

Opening day for Nemo would be a fun day to run around the rest of the park, because everything else is going to be pretty dead.

Re: So What's Everyone Going To Do In That Long Long Long Nemo Line?

I've always found it interesting how some people are "early adopters" and just have to go on a new attraction as soon as it opens, practically foaming at the mouth and giddy with excitement...and yet others are sort of, "I know it's always going to be there. I'll just wait til the line is shorter."

Neither one is more or less of a Disney fan. Just different outlooks.

But this is true of most things in life...new cars, new computers, new PDAs, new movies. Some people just gotta have the "new" thing right now!

Bring a chair, a book, my pj's, a pillow, a blanket, some movies, snacks, a dvd player, and just enjoy the beautiful June Gloom.
Seriously though, really not sure. Does anyone know if you are in line when the park closes you can still ride rule applies to new rides? That's what I would do. Get in the queue 20- 30min b4 the park closes!

I don't know the answer to that question, but that does bring up a good point: at some point before park closing, Disney might call it quits and have CMs cap off the line so that they can wrap it up at a reasonable hour after park closing.

They were doing this for space mountain around mid July 2005. But the line wasn't 3 hours long, just 90 minutes or so.

That's what Tigerlily and I did when Monsters Inc. opened. We didn't actually ride Monsters Inc. for the first time until at our last visit at MiceChat's 2nd anniversary.
