Well I guess it is almost time to start preparing for Disneylands 55th anniversary!
What could Disneyland be preparing for the next big celebration!?

Oh goodness. Didn't we just get rid of the 50th?! I kinda hope that they don't do to much for the 55th and make the 60th big. I think that will give everyone enough time to recover from the 50th.

a big cake, a new peoplemover, and Country Bear Jamboree at DCA. (and a loop in SM!)
I'm literally a born Disney fan! I was born at Providence St. Joseph Med Center right across the street from Disney Studios in Burbank. The same hospital where Walt died.

Hopefully nothing as bad as the 50th.

What was so bad about the 50th EW? I thought it was great, helped clean up the park and out came some good shows and fireworks. Really helped the park in need of some TLC.

It really got old. It went on forever. I don't know a CM who wasn't sick of it.

Well that's because of how long they carried it out, which, I'll admit was too long. But what that promotion did was fix up the park and gave it some well deserved TLC and I also think Matt Ouimet had a lot to do with that but I'm glad it happened (from a guests point of view).

I think the 50th was fine its not every year DL turns 50

Im sure the 55th will get something but lets hope its like the 45th and not like WDW's 35 that didnt happen, and Epcots 25th thats not currently planned for one lets hope theres still one planned.

Yeah you weren't stuck living across the street from the craziness.

I'm glad it cleaned up the park and gave it TLC but it lasted way too long! And the 17 minute fireworks are the worst offenders if you live so close that your windows rattle every single freakin night.

K i'll make you a deal. You can live an hour away and I'll toughen up and brave living across the street from it.

I agree with you! A lot of people talked about how 'lame' it was - and it could have been better in the way of 'televised event' (after all they own ABC) - but we enjoyed the 50th - and all the fun of July 17, 2005!

    Re: Disneylands 55th anniversary.

I'm sure it will be a much lower profile event.

    The 50th was/is a biggie. It's a milestone.

The 75th and the 100th (WOW!!!) will be the next BIG ones.

Of course, with marketing folks being what they are, I'm sure they'll do something special for each five year mark. The 50th was way too successful for Disney to let any future anniversary pass w/o much fanfare.

    Just my guess...

Well I'm pretty sure that is a negative for living so close. I gladly switch places with where you live any day. Save me some gas money...
