From the exit of BTMRR; the 6th floor of the Grand Cali Hotel (with music); and once I got stuck backstage behind iasw, which was scary and loud, but very cool!

Back when Festival of Fools was running, the CMs would let you watch Fantasy in the Sky from the Festival Arena. This place was cool since it wasn't crowded and there was room enough to lie flat on the floor and watch the shells explode above you.
"JESUS!!! That's Cold!" -- Walt Disney's final words.

"You hear people talk about, 'I don't think Walt would like this,' or 'I don't think Walt would like that.' You have no idea what Walt would want! No clue whatsoever! Because the people that worked with him day in and day out didn't know what Walt wanted. Walt didn't know what he wanted 'til he wanted it."

speaking of backstage: I got to watch from inside TDA once and it's downright SCARY! They wont let you out fo the building, and you'd bever want to GO out since they're right on top of you!

    • Between Tortilla Joes and the House of Blues in Downtown Disney.
I'm going to have to try the Sunwheel, sounds awesome!
Where is the Paradise Pier Hotel Fireworks Viewing Area? I've never heard of this place...I'd like to check it out!

Lucky! I'd love to watch the fireworks from inside TDA...
Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Directions to my favorite non-traditional place:

Needed: 50th CD with Remember soundtrack.

Take the 5 South to Red Hill, get off and turn left onto Red Hill

Take Red Hill all the way up to the top . . . the very top . . . keep going.

You will dead end at a gated driveway with a vacant lot on your left.

Turn around. Proceed down the road slowly at roughly 9:24:45 PM.

When you see Fireworks, pull to the side of the road, park and sync up that CD!!

and then they started just as we got on the train....it was truely magical...and amazing, you couldn't plan that moment...and the look on her face
When I saw this topic on Miceage, I came over here just to post this same advice. I accidentally rode BTMRR once during fireworks, and immediately declared it the coolest place to watch them. The fireworks eat up a lot of the crowds, so the wait is pretty short, too. I am not sure how all of the new effects will be, but if you have never tried it and want something different, I would reccomend it!
Vikings are like pirates... why don't we have a movie starring Johnny Depp!?
