    The Bootstrappers...

...are really good. I saw them on Friday and I wasn't expecting much. I'd seen them shortly after they started playing and thought the music the entertainment department had written was cute, but to repetitive and cheesy. This time though they played a great introduction song that was very bayou sounding (finally some appropriate New Orleans Music) and then they played "A Whale of a Tale" from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. That was a pleasant surprise. It was nice to here some non-kiddy music from the band. That's how the musical entertainment should be. For adults and kids while still holding the theme of the area. Anyway, enough of me talking, here's the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MhYJIUNDHY

Don't get me wrong, they still play the disney songs. I just mean that they don't rely only on those to fill out the show. It seems a more free and like real musicians.

I know. I'm just happy for them. They've got some real star power... Recognise the guitarist? He was John-boy from the Waltons. I think that was his character.

Wait...really? Cool (I really hope you're not joking). The flute player and the accordian player are former Dapper Dans, so they pulled from some rather good stock.

close. He played "Jason Walton". He still has a warm smile and a twinkle in his eye when he is performing.

The Bootstrappers are an excellent addition to the area and are becomming very popular.

jackDack, thank you for posting the link to the video!

I've also seen a young woman who sings and plays the violin - she's REALLY good. Is she part of the Bootstrappers? When I heard her, I think she played with a pirate trio rather than a quartet...

Yup! They call her ViVi. She's a bootstrapper with the rest.
    Fantastic musician.
