P.S. I just checked the Rules & FAQ and it states (direct copy paste):

1. They reach over 2000 replies.
2. The topic of the thread violates our rules and regulations.
3. At any moderator's or administrator's discretion.

So I'm not sure why we can still post... I assume that it is not an automatic function of the forums, a MOD must come and manualy close the thread.

is there even a reason why it shall close at 2,000?

No question we have to put it here. We mostly talk about the original, plus it'll get the most hits here.

A new thread should be started, but HB2 should start it.
