Remember those fun kid packets that have been long gone since DCA? Here it is!

That's not the entire packet but all I could get scanned!

I highly doubt it. They released those maps when they thought DCA would bring the little ones and be a success. Disney was wrong.

Ok, will someone explain to this newbie exactly what this was?
And why the gang is standing in front of things that don't exist?
    Thanks!!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

It was a panicky reaction to the deafening silence in the marketplace that greeted DCA upon its debut in February, 2001. The people who actually did buy a ticket to DCA in '01 were generally upset that there was very little for anyone under 40 inches to do or to ride at DCA.

By the summer of 2001 TDA had rushed this Stickers = FUN! concept out into the park to try and give little kids something to do, and to placate their parents who were complaining at Guest Relations that this new theme park was a ripoff with very few attractions for children. This map was supposed to guide little kids around the park to attractions and activities they could participate in. It was a limited success, and once Flik's Fun Fair opened it was abandoned.

    Remember, in 2001 anyone under 40 inches tall only had the following attractions they were allowed to go on at DCA;

    Redwood Creek Challenge Trail
    Golden Dreams
    Golden Zephyr
    S.S. Rustworthy
    Sun Wheel
    King Triton's Carousel
    Seasons of the Vine
It's Tough To Be A Bug
    Disney Animation
    MuppetVision 3-D
    Superstar Limo

And some of those rides were either too scary for little ones, like Tough To Be a Bug or the Sun Wheel, or were very boring for children (and some adults) like Golden Dreams or Seasons of the Vine. DCA had very few attractions the whole family could do together, and very few attractions without a height requirement, and the customer response in 2001 was rather hostile at Guest Relations.

And thus was born the "Sticker Maps" in a desperate attempt to keep little kids busy and keep their parents from demanding their money back at Guest Relations.

DCA has not been a succesful endeavor for Disney since Day One.

Well, the sticker hunt was a giant success with my kids. They had so much fun going on a scavenger hunt.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!
