    Where is Walt buried?

I was just wondering. Someone told me that he was frozen. Anyone know the truth?????

He was cremated. His ashes are interred at Forest Lawn.

The frozen story is an old Urban Legend that ranks in popularity somewhere between "If You Eat Pop Rocks and Drink A Coke At The Same Time Your Stomach Will Explode" and the "If They Drain The Submarine Lagoon The Matterhorn Will Tip Over" story.

Walt was buried at Forest Lawn, Glendale, here in Los Angeles.

Yes, he is very close to a good friend of my family's deceased husband. I heard his grave though is very hard to find. Apparently it was in one location but was moved to an obscure area because of all the commotion it brought.

Thanks for the responses. I've always wished he was buried in the castle. I think that would be really cool. Kinda of fits for such a great man to be buried in such a great place(Disneyland that is).

Unhygenic, and a silly urban legend.

Besides, if he was to have been buried anywhere in Disneyland, it would have to be in Pirates!

He never wanted anyone to be in tears and sorrow over him. So he was privately cremated at Forest Lawn with the immediate family.

Well I certainly hope your friend's husband is deceased!

It isn't that hard to find, if you know where to look. Not really an obscure area. It is in a gated area and there is a tree that conveniently blocks the names from view so you aren't likely to just stumble upon it however.

I've never heard anything about it ever having been moved.

That the biggest rumor of Walt that you will ever hear. Also, about Jewish people. He always liked them.

There was a trip report from MC'ers that took a drive there and visited the site. Lots of pics included as well.

And yeah, from the pics in the thread, the names are behind a tree.

I think it was a few years after he was cremated that they finally placed him at the location and did the family plaque thing (if memory serves me, they did that when Walt's son-in-law Robert Brown died)...but other than that...he was never moved.
