Question about the 2Fer

So, I have relatives visiting from PA and are planning on going to both Disneyland and DCA. My aunt, who lives here in SoCal, got the idea to get the East-Coast relatives the Southern California 2Fer tickets being sold at local supermarkets (Vons, I think). My question is, if we were to purchase the SoCal 2Fer tickets at Vons, and then hand them to our East-Coast relatives, could they get away with it? Don't those cards bought at Vons need to be redeemed at a Ticket Booth and turned into an actual DLR ticket, where they may have to check ID to confirm the SoCal residency? Or, since technically those cheaper tickets sold at Vons could really be purchased by anyone, are my relatives in the clear?

i think we came to the conclusion before that they technically could ask you for your ID at the entrance gate as you walked through the turnstyle but they never do.

as for turning something into a ticket booth and converting it, i don't think you need to do that but if you do, you could do it yourself with your ID and then give the new ticket to them.

you know I think you might be able to get away with it if you guys from socal were there to get them at pick up.... I havent gotten tickets from Vons in a looooong time so I am not sure how they work now. I would think you would just need someone from socal to pick them up.

I don't think there will be a problem. In December I bought So Cal park hoppers for my daughter and her fiance at Stater Bros. and when they went through the gate they never questioned them.

well what do the tickets look like/say if they say must redeem then you have to if not then you dont....

NO, the plastic card IS the ticket, it has the barcode for the Fastpass machines.

As mentioned above, the 2fer ticket is supposed to be JUST for SoCal residents, and the Cm's can ask for ID... but it is unlikely....

I did this for my relatives from the Phillipines and it worked fine. They rarely or ever seen them ask for ID's. I told them to go to the line with a really young looking attendant or someone that doesnt look like they are enjoying their job.. ahahhaa
