Re: Misters in the queue for summer?

I am not a fan of misters. I prefer misses. LOL

Seriously though, if I am wearing my eyeglasses I don't like misters because then they get all wet and then I can't see anything. If I am wearing my contacts its ok. Yesterday I was at DCA and even though it was blazing hot, I avoided the jet mister thing outside of Soarin' strictly because of that reason...

"Misters" are a tacky "solution" to fundamental errors in queue design which should have been resolved on the drawing board, not after construction.

    I wholeheartedly agree.

So tear down those queues and the buildings so they can be redesigned and rebuilt to fix the problem.

    Umm, maybe not ...

I don't like misters because once you get out of the line (and through the ride) you still have to go out in the heat. Only then you will feel all dirty and yucky because you just got misted.

To me, misters = Magic Mountain. I'd rather be in a queue in a building, or under some nice shady trees. Plus I just think misters end up spraying bacteria infested water all over you at some point (because you KNOW they aren't cleaning those nozzles like they should).

Agreed. Plus I end up feeling seriously gross with that bit of water all over me. It just doesnt feel "clean".

Misters done correct do NOT get you wet. The point of the misters is to have the cold water evaporate and heat-exchange with the air pulling the ambient air temperate down.

Only cheap misters or ones that are clogged get you wet. Done properly they are like atomizer sprayers and you never get wet.

Goto Vegas, etc where they have them on their food patios and you'll see what I mean. You wouldn't sit getting wet while you eat!

If the attraction (that's ride + queue) has as part of its immersement a reason to be misted, then sure, mist it up. If not, then the queue should be themed up a little better.
Put misting on Grizzly, for example. You're going to get wet anyway.
Yesterday was pretty hot. I was most hot in the singles line at Screamin' and walking from place to place in DCA. I know California is hot, but I don't think that is intentional theming at DCA.

I would not like it due to health reasons. For some weid reason, they give me asthma attacks.

Word, they make my glasses all wet and spotty.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
