It was cold, why do people insist on water rides when it's that cold anyway?
Yeah - when out of towners flock to the park during the Holidays it actually feels WARM to us. Not hot, but definately not cold!!!!! It'd be a bad idea to close Splash during the Holiday season. It's such a busy time. But a little sooner might have been better, that's true.
Awww please tell me you're kidding. You're telling me that my favorite ride at DL is going to be closed on the 1 and only time I will be down there in all of 2007? Great...
It was posted for a long time (more than a few months in advace) on www.disneyland.com that Splash would be closed during this time. Or just by calling to ask the park.
If you're only able to go to Disneyland once a year, I'd say you should plan ahead and double check to see what will be closed. For example- I live in California so if I'm planning a trip to Disney World in FL, I know for sure to check *first* and see what is going to be closed before traveling over 2,000 miles. You don't have to be a super Disney planner/expert... just a simple check can really save you from being upset right before you leave for your vacation.
No matter what time of year Splash (or any attraction) closes for refurb, someone, somewhere will be mad. If it's open for your trip that means it'll be closed for someone else's. That's just how things go with a park open 365 days a year. Personally I'm glad Disney is doing work to keep things running the best they can. It's much better than having an attraction break down everyday for problems that should have been kept up over the long run.
Just my opinion on all of this... since there's always people upset when attractions close.
Good morning, son
In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
It was pain
Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
Funny thing. A while back there was a waterslide with a functioning loop in it somewhere in Jersey if I remember right. I do not know much about it, but I do have a pic of it in a book around here somewhere.
