AbominableSnowman1's 3-10/11-07 Trip Report (Photo Heavy)

Time for another trip to Disneyland!

I left my house around 2:45 on Saturday to meet up with Sam later on

I got to DL at around 3:30ish and saw that the Pumba lot was full

I got to the Timon lot only to see that it was full as well

I am going to quote Al Lutz on this one, “I couldn’t have been any closer to Knott’s if I tried”

This was the first parking sign I saw…

I made sure I didn't leave my pass in the car this time!

I was walking down the aisles and found this awesome car with an ever better license plate

I was surprised that the tram lines weren’t longer!

I got on the tram and heard of voice come over the speaker system that was completely incomprehensible

We waited to leave and I heard, “Driver, your tram is all *****”

I got to DTD and decided to kill some time while I waited for Sam so I went into World of Disney

Did you know that Grumpy was a gangster?!?

After that, I went to GCH through the DTD entrance where the automatic door is to enter. An older man was holding the automatic door open for people coming in as if it would slam shut on them

This is the location of the future GCH extension, correct? It is a lot bigger than I thought it was!

Flowers on the arches in that courtyard area

I sat down and listened to the pianist

(I am happy I got my immature moment over with)

He started to play the theme to Hercules right when heavenly sun rays same through the lobby windows (I thought it was cool)

Sam called me and let me know that he was there and he wanted me to listen to a CD in his car, so I went back to the parking structure

I got on the tram to go back and the most amazing phenomenon took place, I could understand the safety spiel perfectly! He was also very nice

The beautiful sight from the tram station

We really wanted to ride the Monorail into DL because I hadn’t rode the monorail since it first closed it for the initial construction for Nemo

I was hoping for Red but anything would be appreciated!

    Splash Mountain logs

The entrance lines ended right under the Monorail track (not bad)

And then, the moment we have all been waiting for… A flat brown thing with various rocks on it

In the background, you can see the plastic body replicas that they fill with water for testing on the subs

    H20! (water)

Does anybody have any idea of what they are doing back here?

We stopped for about 30 seconds along the parade route

    Matterhorn went 101

The line to load the Monorail was all the way out to Tomorrowland Terrace!

After Sam and I got that out of our systems, we wanted to go to DCA and catch the last showing of Aladdin

    To be continued...

On the way out of DL, Sam showed me a picture of the Paul Pressler tile that I loved. I guess when he went to the park on Wednesday, he was eating an ice cream over the tile and without knowing, about half of his ice cream melted and dripped on the tile. (Back to real time) We were crossing the Esplanade and we went to look at the tile and the dried up ice cream was still there! (Nobody cares about that tile)

We got into DCA with the pleasure of dealing with the crowds of the Block Party

I was kinda sketchy on the fact that it was Deaf Day at Disneyland on Saturday until I saw this T-Shirt

On the way to the Hyperion, I got a text message from SimplySabrina saying that her and justjohn would be at the park within the hour unless they found something shiny on the side of the road

We got perfect seats on the second level. I messaged Sabrina telling her that we sat down for the Aladdin show. Apparently, they found something shiny on the side of the road, Sonic…

I wasn’t expecting much due to the pretty bad show the last time I went a couple weeks ago. I am going to have to say, that was probably the best performance of the Aladdin show I had EVER seen. The Iago puppeteer really brought the bird to life and made him so realistic. It was the first time that I had ever seen a show where Aladdin actually tried to make his character one of comedy. It was the first time that I had ever seen a Jafar that wasn’t the usual, African American one. The one that replace him for that showing played the character perfectly and looked very much like him with his long, bony, skinny, face and his extremely bright, perfect teeth. It was the first time that I had ever seen a Jasmine that wasn’t large, but definitely in charge because she wasn’t crying the whole time! She was actually mad when the time called for it and not just whimpering. And then of course, there was Genie. He was soooo energetic and had some awesome new jokes…

    New Genie Jokes:

After Jafar became Sultan, “You’re bringing scary back, yeah! You’re super scary wearing only black, yeah!” “You are almost as scary as Britney Spears’ new haircut!” “You are Rosie O’Donnell scary!!!” When he was coming down the stairs with all of the other Genies, he said “This is going to look great on You Tube!” He was awesome.

    Bravo!

After the show, we tried to get a hold of Fishbulb, but we were unsuccessful.

We saw MinionLumbo on the way out

Sam and I met John and Sabrina in the center of the Esplanade and headed into DL

I was getting hungry so we went to the Golden Horseshoe. Sam got a call from Fishbulb when I was eating and it turned out that he was right outside along with DustySage, Grumpy4, Coaster Matt, Gemeni Cricket (both Birthday boys), Rose, and PEZZ Lightyear so they came in to say “Hi”

They had an extra FP for me for BTMRR so I gladly accepted it

I sat next to Norm and we engaged in a flashing war, no you sicko, with our cameras!

    Then I got DustySage

Everybody except for Sabrina, John, Sam and I left so we took a Cons pic before they left

The remaining group watched the fireworks

I love this picture… The end of the Star Wars sequence is SO bright!

This is why I don’t come on Saturday’s

The earlier group also gave us all FP’s for Space

We had just enough time to go on Buzz… I got a bit over 300,000

That night was over so it was time to go to the hotel that my aunt and uncle booked right down the street (I was happy because I wouldn't have to make the trip again the next day)

    To be continued...

Great pics! Your picture of the Splash logs just miss the new Nemo buoy now sitting backstage a little more to the left of the picture.
Great firework shot too. Thanks for sharing!

We got out of the hotel really late due to Daylight Savings

    Here we go again

    W00t for a new level!

Crazy crowds on a HOT day

This was the really nice guy from yesterday

And this was the really mean, cranky guy that I rode with

My aunt and uncle treated me to a huge and satisfying breakfast at about 11:30

The tram lines didn’t reflect the entrance lines

    Yikes!

I thought I was going to be really late but I wasn’t that late at all

OlympicNut with the Birthday gal, Wolfy

    Chernabog with Nick(?)

“It going to be 90 degrees today!”

    Hollywood1939

    MickeyMaxx with VillansFan

    JustJohn

Aerinpegadrak with JudiMouse and Grumpy4 in the background

    YoCharles came also

MissChristine with her equally beautiful sister

Is this allowed in the park? It is borderline bathing suit!

After an unusually long meet, he decided to go to Hungry Bear

Funnel cake with boiling whipped cream

Putting greens were being installed on the side of Splash Mountain

    Yay, Canoes!

Interesting tarps set up for where they bring the Fantasmic! floats out

The burning cabin was gone but I didn’t get a pic

Everybody was rowing along in sync and then Sabrina had a brain malfunction and swung her paddle forward just as everybody rowed theirs back causing a rather large wave of green water to land on my lap… Thanks Bree! (Where can I get all of my disease immunity shots?)

There is a fire on deck! (JK)

The smoke was getting really bad…

Then it was off to the Disney Gallery to see the new display

Brittany was in love with this pot/vase thing

This guy was being extremely rude and called the Bootstrappers losers (yes, the father)

    He really liked my pins

Everybody liked the orange sun because it made even the fairest skin look tanned

    In line for pirates

After the especially foggy trip through the Carrbbean, we went to Big Thunder Trail while VillansFan and OlympicNut went on BTMRR

Just for Todd, I passed out the Pocky and also passed out what I thought were another new Pocky product but they were just Yam Yams (They were still good!)

    ?

After the Pocky break, Brittany said we should go to JC before she had to go work

Maseca joined us just as we were about to get in line

This guy was absolutely awesome. He gave a spiel that would rival my favorite Skipperettes’, Brittany

Due to the interesting orange color of the sun due to the smoke, I was able to get some cool pics

After our cruise, we headed to IASW. As soon as I got there, I got a call from my mom saying that I had to go

O well. I had been walking so much, I couldn’t feel my feet by that time (Good ol’ Converse offer the best in comfort and support!)

The weekend was over and so it this Trip Report

    Quote of the Day(s):

Now that I think of it, all of the best quotes would belong in MiceChat Gold!

    Thanks for reading

    Great report Jeff!!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
