Re: The Joy of FASTPASS - details and secrets

My guess, that the lawyers didn't want them.

A bin would stick out and could possibly hurt a kid who ran into the bibs.

Unfortunately, you are probably right. Anything is possible in a world where the fort can be closed down because one kid in god knows how many could figure out how to lose a finger using the guns. I would also suspect that it was an oversight during the design or the tray could have been recessed into the machine.

Here's a tip. When the first Fastpass comes out, put it at the bottom along with the ticket you used. Then you can move on in that order.

Actually, this depends on how you hold your tickets. For me, I hold all of them in one hand.

That 50 minute wait was posted as a misjudgement by a noobie who is unaware of how fast the line moves. It was only 20-25 minutes so says the wait time cards.
Tourists. Why'd it have to be tourists?

I walked by Indy several times that dayand it was 50 minutes each time (except for when it was down for a bit late in the afternoon).

Are there any plans to remove Fastpass from Indiana Jones yet?

Why would they remove the fastpass from IJA?

I understand how FP work, but how do we get them for our 2 year olds who do not have tickets? Do we just ask the CM of the attraction? I'm especially thinking of Buzz and Autopia because they're their favorites.

Yes, find a cast member and explain the situation.
With no ticket that may just agree that it's family and to let the little one's in (since they tech. can't operate a machine)
Or they will spit one out just to amuse the CM that is collecting passes.

Best thing is hit City Hall and ask.

We just got back from our first trip to WDW last week and all the FP machines have this clear plastic "FP catcher". Since I was getting 6 FPs at a time, it was so nice to just let them collect rather than having to grab each one as it comes out like at DLR.

The ironic thing was that - as everyone knows - it get's hot in Orlando and at certain FP distribution areas there would be these huge fans overhead blowing right onto you and the FP machines to presumably cool people off (for example, they had these on the new Expedition Everest). If you were not careful, when you pulled out your FPs they would blow away if you did not have a good grip on them.

Your 2yr olds do not have tickets, nor do they need them. Same applies to FP. They do not need FP to ride the ride. They will ride with an adult with a FP and will be fine.

Re: The Joy of FASTPASS - details and secrets

    I'm a believer...

I just went to DL for the first time in a long, long time -- they hadn't broken ground for DCA, although they were about to -- and I was a bit dubious about the fastpass system. However, after spending four days with it, I have Seen The Light. I'm especially happy to have been able to ride Space Mountain and Splash Mountain without the endless lines, and getting just a few fastpasses made it possible to do a lot without being quite as exhausted from the hours and hours of standing in lines.

I'm also very grateful to darkbeer for posting the instructions -- I printed out the pertinent parts and carried them around with me as I navigated the park, and they were very helpful.
