Fun article but it's almost more about her than about Club 33. A few factual errors (I hardly read a Club 33 article without finding some). Since the Club's own staff often dishes out errors, I can't tell if they were generated by staff or misreporting. But generally a pretty good piece.
I read further down to the reviews of her article, and was very pleased to read the first one, by Bruce, ESPECIALLY the part about do not miss the bathrooms. On my one and only visit, that stands out in my mind as unique and incredible. It also taught me, if you are ever given the chance to do something so high end, it maybe your one and only chance, you should visit the restrooms, you just never know!
From the article:
Is this accurate? Last I heard, the Individual membership was $7,500, with $3,025 in annual dues. I wonder if rates have gone up.
All I can tell you about that is the 2007 annual dues statements that were mailed out in December were the same as 2006, and were lower than the article quotes.
Now...if Club 33 has since then raised fees and dues for new memberships...I can't say. But if they haven't...then the story is in error.
Edited to Add: I've just been informed that a letter to Members went out in February advising them of increased fees to join and increased annual dues. I'm told the numbers quoted in the article are now correct for new memberships (and next year's dues if they don't go up again before then). Not much of an increase in annual dues, but that increase of two grand in initiation fee, is a big jump.
