    Old black & whites

I just found this site, some great old pictures here. A big "huzzah" to whoever put this together.

Yep. Great site. It's been there for years. A lot of the photos I've posted here have come from there.

This photo of the construction phase for Jungle Cruise intrigues me...

First, I don't recall ever seeing the two lionesses playing tug-of-war with a scrap of zebra before...

Second, how weird would it have been to be riding the boat like the guests seen in the background, watching these men among the animals, lowering more of them from a crane, right during the middle of the day?

What is/was Glacier Grotto? It's indicated as #3 on this preview map, apparently located on the Matterhorn...

Those lions enjoying a zebra sandwich didn't last too long: The scene was very realistic and very grisly--evidently too much for the genteel element of the day.

If I'm not mistaken, that referred to the Matterhorn caverns one went through while riding the Skyway.

The answer and those same pictures can be found starting at Post #17 (but also see Post #21) of this thread from last year:

Beautiful! It's amazing what black and white pictures can do. They make pillaging and plundering pirates look quite sophisticated.

Very nice! Can anyone tell me where exactly this was? Is this mine cart through nature's wonderland? Where could you canoe around like this..? Is this close to Tom Sawyer Island?
