I can't put it off any longer .. I am going to do it this time

Everytime I am in DCA, I walk by the Golden Dreams theater and I say to myself, "Self, tomorrow we'll go in there and watch the Califia movie." But, that great big beautiful tomorrow has never come. So I am not going to pass on Whoopie this time. That is, is the movie even still showing? I would be heartbroken if I had shirked my Disney duty this long and not take full advantage of an attraction that cost the Mouse so much, only to have it go to Yesterland with the hallowed and much-missed Light Magic and Superstar Limo.

I really enjoy Golden Dreams. It's still showing and I suggest you go and enjoy. It's a touching film likemany of the ones at Epcot, and it has been known to bring a tear to my eye.

Believe it or not, it's a good movie--it doesn't really gloss over history like the American Adventure. People have suffered for and from history. I think it's important that the plight of so many coming here needs to be acknowledged. Yes, it is cleaned up--there are kids in the audience for goodness sakes--but still I like the message better than most of the history lessons Disney offers.

For me, there's nothing as uplifting as the one second acknowledgment of Harvey Milk in the end of the movie. That tells me that Disney's perspective is finally opening up some more.

    I have enjoyed it.

    Peace,

I had Whoopie Goldberg nightmares for weeks after seeing Golden Dreams. *shudders* Never. Again.

We just saw Golden Dreams a couple of weeks ago. Not seen it since opening. Still pretty good.

    Just MHO, YMMV

Eh, it's ok. If you grew up in California it's like flashbacks to your fourth grade CA History class w/ Whoopi and emotional music. I guess it might be interesting if you didn't know all the info....but....eh. That's my opinion

Never seen it, nor felt a need to - now my interest is piqued.

I saw it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. Thought that the Whoopi part and the flashbacks were a little weird because it seemed anti-Californian. The last part was really cool though.

I think that everyone should see Golden Dreams at lease once. It's a very good movie, but just not the kind of movie that you need to see more than once a year.

I love the film and its portrayal of the not-so-nice side of things, and I especially love the final montage with the great song sung by Heather Headly.

I didn't really like it. Then again, going to a themepark to watch a movie is not my thing unless its in 3D.
