Well to the glee of most of you here. It has just popped up on the Disneyland calendar that the Midway Games will be closing for renovations June 20. However, I'm doubting it will be a refurbishment, I'm guessing it will probably more along the lines of taking some dynamite and blowing the whole thing down.
I'm guessing this would take the whole summer and more of the off-season to do. Should be very interesting to see what they have in store for that area.
I hope they are gone. Those game rigged just like Carnys do it. Disney shouldn't do that.

Actually from what i have heard they are removing only one or two. The ones closest to the new attraction. This will allow for the reconfiguration of the CM backstage acces tunnel that will now be removed and is inside the construction zone. The other ones will start their placemaking project.
Removing a couple? Interesting... it should be interesting to see what Disney does with these as years go on and DCA changes. :)
Hopefully this is the placemaking project finally gaining steam. Nice to see work starting on more than just Toy Story.
I hardly see anyone go to those things anyway. Maybe if they actually had cool disney prizes...

Yeah, my take on the midway games is that you should get at least one free play with admission (then pay after that), and the prizes should NOT be generic carnival prizes. Lame.
