Quick question for you all...
What are the main differences between Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room and Tiki Room Under New Management (at WDW)? Is it just a different name, or is the show noticeably different.
Also, and maybe not so quick, which one do you prefer?

Suffice to say that the DL version is the wonderful original show and the WDW version is a travesty that mocks the original show.

Umm.. it's pretty much the most annoying thing in the world.
"Under New Management" has Iago and Zazu in it now, and Iago is annoying and loud and rediculous.
I like DL's better. It's just nicer to go into, and not as stressful as WDW's. The loud noises are not conducive to sleeping or cooling down. Iago isn't that funny, and Zazu is just like in the movie (a nusiance).

The show is completely different.
Walt Disney's show at Disneyland is a charming and sincere evocation of a living, enchanted paradise where birds sing and the tiki gods come to life. A woman I took to see it for the first time cried out delightedly, "It's just like being in a Walt Disney movie!"
WDW's "Under New Management" takes the cynical and abrasive conceit that two noisy Touchstone-style agent-type birds have taken over and made the "club" loud, obnoxious and "relevant" to (1980's?) loudmouths who don't like sincerity or Walt Disney. It's a mess. Like being in a DreamWorks movie, but even less funny.
Disneyland = Good
Magic Kingdom = Very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very very ... very very BAD

The WDW version we had heard was bad and we only saw it to see just how bad it was. WOW. No comparison. I wish we would have just not gone in there. Iago was annoying and it was just really really bad. I would NOT recommend this to anyone.

and merlinjones covered it pretty much. It's a very annoying experience and it's just... so insulting. It's the equivalent to lining up for a ride, but instead of a ride, it's some guy who slaps your face. Then you exit.

I will say this about it though, I like the quere area much more then the DL one. The WDW is much more enjoyable, while at DL you just sit in the corral and then go in.
With regard to the WDW Tiki Room fiasco, this article at Re-Imagineering (a blog for professional Disney Imagineers) is a MUST READ. It's a real classic on the problem of updating attractions and yet being true to Disney's spirit, and it uses the WDW Tiki Room as the parade example of what not to do:
