Re: Over-abundance of Walt Disney World labeled merchandise

There is some Disneyland merchandise at Walt Disney World. I think saw some DCA stuff at Downtown Disney's Once Upon a Toy, last year.

It's horrible they can't even differentiate the pins.
I am so sick and tired of how Disney uses Cinderella Castle to represent everything, even down to putting it on Disneyland commercials and Disneyland merchandise now.

It's bigger than Disneyland's. Oh boy. Big whoop-de-do. Disney -- get over it.

LOL, DCA doesn't count. I think they were just trying to get rid of that crap any way they could!

Maybe that's why DCA was so empty. Florida tourists felt that they didn't need to visit because they already had a t-shirt!

What is even worse is the Disneyland Paris commercials that utilize Cinderella Castle. The castle is so different than the Cinderella Castle they show at the end, it looks so cheap.

Re: Over-abundance of Walt Disney World labeled merchandise

Hey all you followers of Disney Merchandise, I made a poll here asking for a separate section for all Disney merchandise and collectibles so we won't have to crowd the actual park talk. Please vote yes, if you'd also like a special area to talk pins, posters, toys, plush, sculptures, books, etc etc!

    http://www.micechat.com/forums/showthread.php?t=58745

It'd be easier to keep tabs on what merchandise events are coming with those who actually care and also more fun for all disney resort guests all over the world to participate as well... not just the disneyland section visitors.

Only 13 people have voted so far. I know there's more of you out there!

80% of their business is done in Florida. That's why you see co-branded stuff.

    And this matters why?

It isn't as though Disney can't produce and sell Resort-specific merchandise - the demand is out there. Cost-cutting by co-branding, or homogeninzing souvenirs is tacky and isn't going to save Disney anything when people don't buy the product because they're at Disneyland - not Walt Disney World.

You don't go to New York City gift shop and look for a Los Angeles mug, do you?

I carefully position my fingers so they cover the WDW logo when I hold the cup. It makes me feel so much better.
Maybe they should come up with a new cup design that is simply a big Disney "D" and says in the Walt script "Overpriced...Disney style." or "Disney.. I'm drinkin' it!".

I have noticed this as well and it also bothers me very much. If guests are willing to shell out premium prices for merchandise with the sole purpose of remembering how fun their visit was, they should be entitled to having the name of the park which they visited emblazoned on the front.
I totally agree. Remember a few years ago when Disneyland had awesome merchandise, like T-shirts with specific attractions and all the cute little ride vehicles? My last few trips I've hardly bought a thing. They've really dropped the ball on this one.

Sorry Cohete... I just voted no. It is 7:15 and I haven't had my coffee yet. I meant to vote yes.
