Can you fill us in on what the changes are on the 24th if not sooner? Not sure when I'll get to go down to Disneyland again, but the Mansion is my fave so I must know.

One of my favorite attractions at Disneyland. I hope these changes for the 50th are as great as the Holiday makeover is. Please keep us informed as to what's happening and when the attraction comes back up I am sure there are more than one on this board who will be there and then report, in detail, what the changes are for those of us not able to make it that day.

Forgive me if this is an overly ignorant question, but will the Haunted Mansion be getting the NBC overlay this year? I've heard both that it will be, and that it will be remaining original year-round for the 50th, so I myself don't know. I'm wondering because I go in the winter every year, and as much as I do love the NBC overlay I haven't seen it in its original glory since the overlay was introduced.
Either way, looking forward to the enhancements!
Definitely..On the 23rd (I'll give an earlier scoop), I will give you ALL the info of the enhancements... and this year will 'probably' be the last HMH!!

The last time for the HMH overlay? I thought it was really popular though? I like em both, but obviously if only one was to stay then I'd pick the original.
And when you say this year, do you mean later this year in October will be the last time, or that we've already seen the last of the HMH?

It's quite cruel that you arent telling us until the 23rd what theyre doing to the mansion! haha. Really, please just tell us now!
No HMH is continuing next year. If it happens this year not sure cause of the 50th.
I don't understand this. Why do we lose HMH because Florida wants one. First, are they just taking our stuff and again shipping something that belongs to Disneyland off to Florida (like Walt's Working Office which we will never see again even though they promised to bring it back when done) because they are so cheap they can't make a second set of overlay stuff? And by the way, Why is Florida getting more new stuff to celebrate Disneyland's 50th. This is just not right.![]()
I don't mind all the other Parks joining in, but Florida is getting 4 new attractions/shows and we get Buzz Lightyear and a re-done Space Mountain? Space Mountain is great and I am glad they are doing it. But I have been on Buzz Lightyear in Florida. Rode it once. That was plenty as I found it cheaply done with plywood flats painted with Black Light Paint and a few 3-D sculpted characters. I just didn't think it was all that great.
I know why this is happening with all the Pressler and Harris screw-ups leaving them very little time here because so much of Disneyland has to be redone for the 50th, but I just think it stinks that it had to happen in the first place. They are now paying big time for Pressler's method of closing stuff down and spending a penny to save a dime. Now it's time to pay the dime back, ten times over. And it stinks.![]()

I too agree that the 50th celebration should have been for Disneyland only. It seems like Disneyland gets treated like a naughty step child when it come s too new Attractions or improvements
It seems logican to me that givin the current state of the DLR that, we would only get one and a half attrations to celibrat with. I just think that the idea to make the 50th a global event was givin the go ahead with out much thought. The idea is grate but Disneyland is verry short on space, Some think that WDW has lots of.
Plus its a grate excuse to clone attrations.
No, I think they should leave HM alone. It's great the way it is. I'm all for keeping Walt's vision so I don't necessarily agree when they decide to revamp classic attractions. I know that HM may need it but still... there's already too much going on at DLR.
this's an old rumor from what I hear we've only lost the merchendising eventOriginally Posted by HMMaid2001
from my understanding WDW would get it's own layover stuff because the two mansions arn't technologicaly identical or whatever?
Tokyo got a layover last year and we didn't loose anythingI think our layover will be fone for a while
dude Walt died before the Mansion project was finished and alot of stuff changed in it after his death to I thinkOriginally Posted by Mickeybug1
I'll agree that they have made some mistakes in revamping attractions but I can't see how this will go wrong, it's just a couple of extra effects they're not rescripting any scenes like they did with Pirates, and it's certainly not a totaly rescripting like Tiki Room Under New Management
I hope we get WDW's picture in the Foyer type deal, then we can have a changing portrait in the beginning like Tokyo's doesI like that snowflake effect they had going on it too a foyer portrait would rawk

Earlier this morning I went on a walk thru of the Mansion.. just to make sure the enhancements were true and not false rumors..Anyways, I saw and im amazed of what guests are going to see differently.. and will be pleased!! Disney executives said sometime towards the last HMH, that 5 years of HMH is enough..for me, as a HM CM.. they should keep it just like IASW holiday... but its up to Disney.. thats why I heard from a Disney exec that this October 2005, will 'probably' be the last..so after the holiday, we shall see what happens!!
