That sucks. I love the HM mansion as is, but HMH is awsome too. There are so many NBC fans who come just for that and the merchandise at the Villians store (I know I do), I think it would be stupid to get rid of it. But it wouldn't be the first time (or I'm sure the last) they did something stupid.

If there is one thing I love about Disneyland, it's knowing that It was Walt's park. But how can any one say no to enhancements for attrations. I mean lets not forget my favorite Walt Quote,
"As long as there is imagination left in the world Disneyland will never be completed."

Walt Changed Attrations all the time. The Diaramas on the train after Tommorowland. The Jungle Cruse was changed durring Walt's time.

Why is it now compleatly unecepibull to change things?

Lost Boy, I agree with you:

The Haunted Mansion Holiday is wonderful changeover! It's something DL should continue to do regardless of whether or not a special merchandising event is associated with it. AND it is the ONLY attraction that recieves a makeover for Halloween. OK, it's Jack's Halloween version of Christmas, but all those Jack O'Lanterns above the masouleum on the berm, the scarecrow, the extra spiders, maneating plants and Singing Jack O'Lanterns inside the house and in the graveyard make it Spook-tacular.

And as someone else mentioned, the fanbase and merchandise (even without the special event sells well (better than the Eddie Murphy Haunted Mansion did, no doubt) and cannot be neglected.

As for the return of Walt's Desk from WDW, YES it has been in WDW too long and should be placed back in the Walt Disney story for DL's 50th. After all DL is the only Disney Park lived to walk in, the two offices should be displayed just as Walt had them, next to each other.

That is so awesome!!!! Honestly, until this summer I didn't know how Leota's head was "in" the globe :o But it will be awesome for more interaction .... also, did I read that they were fixing the moving staircase rampy thingy????? That has been broken as far back as I can remember ... so I am thinking at least seven years if not more????? Anyways, AWESOME!

That last one has me confused. If a head in a globe hasn't floated before, what has it done all this time? Has it just sat on the bottom of it or something?

Madame Leota's head is inside a crystal ball, and it usually sits on a stand, on the table..the table at one point, back in the day, used to move..but now, its away from the table, above it..its hard to explain, its better to see it!

doesn't WDW already have the calender lady?

wouldn't it be rather pointless to put a new portrait in the hallway and replace an existing one? (I'd heard there were new portraits added but no replacements)

if this's true I'm a bit dissapointed I'd rather see an extra portrait added in then just a swap out (and why would they send the Calender lady to WDW anyways, their portrait is in the foyer of their mansion)

I really dislike the idea of changing the changing portraits. Also, why would we get Master Gracey? Doesnt the Master Gracey portrait play some sort of role at WDW, establishing the ghost host character??

I'm iffy about the Madame Leota effect. Making Leota float in the past didnt work as it wasn't convincing... How will they make the effect work this time? Will she still be projected onto the head still, or will it be a floating animatronic head somehow?? How will that work?

I guess I just love the current state of the mansion so much that I don't want anything to be ruined by drastically changing any effects or features... haha.

Also, when will all this new stuff be ready for us to see? Are they installing it now?
