    *New paint job
*New railings by the foyer steps
*New carpet from the foyer to the loading area
*1 changing portrait in the hallway has traveled to WDW,the Calendar
Lady.therfore we received the Master Gracey portrait

and the biggest of them all....

WDI has designed Madame Leota to float away from the table..YES, her head inside the globe will be floating!!!

I checked another site..and wanted you guys to be the first ones to actual have the REAL info!!!

Did I just read a huge friggin' spoiler with no warning? I thought (from the first three items) that you had posted some silly teaser stuff, and then I realized I was reading something I didn't want to know. Why do you care what's posted on another site?

Well, much as I think the polite way to go with spoilers is to use spoiler tags, I think when a thread - by its title - is clearly all about spoilers, one is going to have use caution when reading it, if one does not wish to be spoiled.

Can we not assume that a thread called "Haunted Mansion 50th Changes" is going to contain some real information about Haunted Mansion 50th Changes?

I mean, I have to read this stuff; otherwise I would have stayed miles away from this thread so as not to be spoiled. (I happen to think losing the "calendar" portait sucks, that Master Gracey is about as lame a replacement as we can get, and that -after the rocking table fiasco in the seance room- I have a great deal of skepticism about a floating Leota head effect. The new carpet sounds good though.)

As for HMMaid2001 being concerned with what's posted at another site, I am assuming that she's just trying to make sure that we here at micechat have the real scoop - and I, for one, appreciate that. A lot of us read stuff and post on other Disney message boards. Heck, three have popped up just this past week, and micechat is just one of them. If someone wants to bring the real deal here, then kudos to them, says me.

Thank goodness for the moving exit ramp......I hate walking up that thing! (Am I lazy? No, I'd just prefer stairs.) It's bugged me that it hasn't been working in years.....or at least during any of our visits the last several years.

The changes....I'm glad we're getting the good and correct scoop, but I'm semi-ambivalent. I think the Leota thing will be cool (my kids will really really love it), but I wish they wouldn't mess with the stretching room. That's my favorite part of the attraction.....has been since I was six.

The news in this thread is over-shadowed for me by the thought of no more HMH!! Honestly, it's why we started coming to Disneyland every single year since 2001 at that time of year. We have plans to visit every year at that time forever.....and if HMH goes to WDW, then I'm pretty sure we'd follow it. HMH was the most exciting thing to happen at Disneyland in ages, to us. My kids are getting older and they want to go to WDW. I'd be a lot more excited about taking them if HMH was there.

Thanks for the scoop, HMHMaid. I love your enthusiasm.

Well said!!!! I came into this thread hoping to find spoilers. I live in Northern California and get down to Disneyland once or twice a year and I like to hear about what's new that I can expect when I get down there. Reading about it is one thing but seeing what you've been reading about just makes the stoke better.

Meh. Speculation is one thing, actual details before they're presented to the public is another.

I read on another site that they are replacing the portraits with plasma screens that will flash in sync with the lightning outside. Is this true?

They really need to keep those ramps in moving condition. If they don't plan on keeping them running properly, I would much rather prefer they just add a few steps instead having a non working ramp. The non working ramp at the exit of space Mountain was the worst! And it was so narrow that you couldn't get around the slow moving person in front of you. And if it was the end of the day and my legs were about worn out, it was heck getting up the ramp ~ stairs would have been much better.

I've heard LCD and it had better be LCD

Plasma is a horrid technology images tend to burn into the screens and the colors tend to fade with extended use (admitedly it's good in that it has brought out large flatscreen TV designs and Plasma has high contrast but LCD is quickly catching up, though image quality wise CRT still is the best for refresh rate and contrast ratio I've heard)

What's so horrid about the exit ramp? I always enjoy semi-bouncing up the broken ramp. =)

And thanks for the info HMMaid!

My room mate jokes that the exit ramp to Space is the most complex machine in the park, since it is always broken. I say it is the fish next to the Snow White wishing well.

Personally, I enjoy hearing about whats happening to attractions and what new attractions will be like before riding them.
I especially like getting all the info on ride updates. For some reason I know I'd be a bit upset after riding the Haunted Mansion with the new features if I hadn't heard about them before hand... even if the effect turns out to be spectacular. I guess I just wouldn't want to be too suprised by dramatic changes to my favorite ride.

Hearing about it and understanding whats going on with it before hand somehow kind of lessens the idea in my head that the ride needs to be updated in order to maintain its quality...

anyways, thank you for the information HMMaid! Please, feel free to post more info in the future! Or at least PM it over to me if the others object! haha
