Is 9 million a lot to spend on a parade?

Just curious is that a lot for a parade. How much did Block Party cost and Parade of Dreams? Is this new parade for DCA supposed to be even bigger than Block Party? Hopefully no disney music again, its nice to get away from it sometimes...

I'm just going to miss Block Party.
It's a true gem, and not as labor intensive as full parades.
(Or maybe moreso with the dancers and whatnot...)

LOL. I hated Block Party, I thought it was boring and couldn't believe it was over...it seemed half finished. On the other hand thought Parade of Dreams was amazing.

Although I have no answer for the original question.

Well, I believe Lion King Parade was I believe about $26 mil, Fantasmic was $60 mil. Light Magic was $30 million at the time, which was considered high simply because $100 mil was being used to refurbish ALL of Tomorrowland (about a quarter of that went to Rocket Rods.)

So the short answer is, no, $9 mil isn't a lot. It'll buy you passable entertainment. Better than the umpteen mini-parades going on at MK right now. But probably not something that will last 10 years.

"Is 9 million a lot to spend on a parade?"
    That depends; am I paying?

Apparently mil$9 is a largish budget by past measures, but the new management are enthused about quality and are splurging on parades. I really don't get Block Party Bash.. dubya-tee-eff are those big square things on trolley wheels? And why do CMs have to push them?

But I'm not a parade guy.
    Disney FAQ#275: What is DCA?
DCA stands for Disney Construction Area. All the Cast Members are themed with hard hats and steel toed boots.

Also, Tokyo's Dreamlights (MSEP on steroids) was about $25 million.

To think both the Lion King Parade and Light Magic were more expensive than that.

I don't mean to sound rude... But if you didn't want to listen to disney music, why were you at Disneyland, and Disney's California Adventure?

I was going to comment on that also. Isn't any newly composed music performed at any Disney Park, or in any Disney movie or TV show technically considered Disney music? (Apologies to the composers and lyricists who worked so hard in actually creating it)

I mean the "follow your dreams" type of stuff. its just nice to not have every parade like that.

PoD had to cost a bunch, the floats are huge and very intricate.

as much as block party bash is fun, and i will admit i hated it at first but it has grown on me, i am rather excited to see a new parade at DCA. and supposedly is supposed to have more energy than this past one, but im not sure what they mean by more energy seeing it will have only one show stop.

I think we need to get rid of the parades.

and just have a line of Characters walk down Main Street and the Sun Plaza with a radio or some music playing as they walk along.
