Re: Annual Passholders Ride the Weekend Train to the DisneylandŽ Resort Free!

You know what's really sad? I was looking at that going "yay! Free Metrolink to the park!" Then it occured to me: Disneyland is closer to my house than the metrolink station. I live over on Orangthorpe and Gilbert, it's closer for me to just drive to the park then go to the Fullerton Metrolink station.... sadness.

Anyone know exactly where the shuttle drops you off? According to the only map I could find, it looks like you get dropped off further away than the Mickey & Friends structure and there is no tram - quite a hike.

The ART shuttles drop you off in the Lion King Tram loading area, so it is a lot closer than the Parking Structure and the hike from the car to the tram.

So for example, Lisa and I could drive to the Tustin station, park for free, then take the train to the Anaheim station (ART does not go to Fullerton, but the OCTA Route 43 is a good choice if you go to Fullerton), then a very short walk to ART pickup point in front of the Amtrak/Metrolink Station. Then off to the park.

We signed up and will do it one Sunday.

We have used the Metrolink plenty of times to go to the LA area, on weekends, fares are 50% off the normal price from Orange County, and then your ticket is good for free rides on the LA Metro subways and buses.

Heck, sounds good to me, and its free!

I'm not an AP holder, but I'm taking the train to Disneyland anyway, even if I have to pay for it. I find it more fun than having my parents drive me.

Man, I wish they'd had this when I was a car-less AP. Would have made my life a lot easier.
