    Food wait times

I was at D-land April 1 and today April 5. Each day I went to the 11am Billy Hill show and was subjected to a 35minute wait to get food. I tried going to the counter service stage door cafe place just outside, but I waited over 15 minutes each day in line and didn't get to the front before I needed to get in for the Billy Hill show.

This I am sure sounds ridiculous to some folks, but the reason for my frustration is that I have been going to the show almost weekly (fridays) with my son since sept. 2006 and this is the first time (twice in a week now) that the service was awful. It appears that the folks working these two days were not all the regulars I am used to. It was about 1/2 new and 1/2 old. Unfortunately the new ones seemed to be the ones in charge of my order.

Has anyone else had any similar experience with this through the parks? Could D-land please retain folks so that they can get familiar with how things run and let things go smoothly?

It's also the first time since September you've experienced it during spring break. The first two weeks of April are very busy, and that's probably why you've experienced longer than usual wait times. That's also why you saw more cast members you didn't recognize. As someone who has actually worked the Golden Horseshoe during very busy days, I'm not surprised. Back when I was a cast member we worked our damndest but unfortunately the line was very long some days.

Take a break from the park and go when it's less crowded.

You are not crazy. Wait times for food have become strange. It is not unusual to find that there are not enough servers to handle the number of patrons needing service. The people who are there are working as best they can. I hope that their difficulties are addressed by 'management'.

I think it's hit or miss. I've had time where I got my food right away and times where it takes forever, by the time I get my food ther is no seating for the show.

Thanks for the notes. I will wait a couple weeks until spring break is over and see how it goes. I suffer from the need for immediate gratification. Heck-minute rice takes too long!

I've noticed that the lines in the Golden Horseshoe are really slow no matter what.

He said he tried outside too. I know this is attributable to Spring Break craziness. Any idea if they staffed up enough, or is it a $$$ saving effort?

I had the same thing happen but during the Christmas crowds. It was the Stage Door Cafe the line to order wasnt that bad only 5-8 mins so I figuared ok good Ill get it in no time. WOW I was sooo wrong it ended up taking 45 plus mins to get my order. Worst thing was though with 3 registers opened each one printed the same numbers so there would be 3, 411 orders each with a 15 min. interval. The only thing that got me mad though was the CM's at the register were saying it was only 15 mins to get your food when it was really 45mins leaving the poor CM's giving out the food to keep saying sorry.

Yeah... waiting for food at Disneyland is quite a time-consuming affair.

Perhaps they should develop a FastingPass system.

Except there is no chili in a bread bowl. That is why I go to the Golden Horseshoe.
