Re: Here Are Some Tips About What To Wear To A Theme Park Hehe!!

Sunscreen is a must. I hate seeing little kids running around looking like lobsters.

And the pin thingy -or a lanyard as I call it. Is a must!! My kids and I love it. Just be careful with the little plastic pouches, they can rip off easily, so try not to leave your ticket in it.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

I've never been asked to take my flips off on Soarin' but I do it anyway. I saw someone's shoe slip off a few years back, so it's habit now.

It may have been the policy to keep them on (as everywhere else in the parks) , but we never enforced it at Soarin' when I worked there in 2006.

Leaving them on the floor was better than having to go down and fish them out of the 'pit'.

I think that better then a wear/don't wear list, is this piece of advice...

Before you leave the house, look in a mirror. Turn around; check out the back and sides of your outfit. Now, do you still think you should go to Disneyland in your outfit....if in doubt, ask someone who will be honest with you.

Many people wear things that are on this "do not wear list", and personally, I think some of the things listed are just silly, but to each their own.

One last thing, I think it would be great to see more dresses in the park, this summer I plan on wearing them all time. Nice sundresses = lady like looks = lady like behavior...we hope.

Because of visits to Club 33, which has a dress code, and the fact that I visit after or on the way to work, which also has a dress code, I don't agree with all of these "tips".

And yes, as many old photographs reveal, there was a time when many elegant and classy people, especially ladies, dressed up for Disneyland. That meant heels and dresses. It's too bad that time has passed.

Amen, brother Froggie, amen. I'm lucky that my wife is a throwback -- no crocs 'n' overalls for her. She wears heels every visit to DL, and a skirt or dress is not out of the question (though she looks damn good in jeans, too).

I find going to Disneyland a cause to get all gussied up. I go in nice '40s attire.
My mom would tell us the stories of her wearing fur coats in the Anaheim heat just for Disneyland.

To me and my family, Disneyland is (or at least was) a luxury and we have to dress like it.

Hmmm, and while I'm at it, I do recall that there was a time when even jeans were forbidden at DL.

It strikes me that so many people have complained about DL becoming run down over the years, but none of them think to look at how slovenly the average DL attendee has become when compared with that of the hallowed "golden age". Perhaps DL is just reflecting the run down, sloppy look of its guests, and if we all took the time to respect the park by dressing nicer, DL would do the same for all of us . . .

Flip flops are o.k. as long as the person doesn't have some freaky feet. I've seen some fugly fet with yellow, overgrown toenails, corns and calluses, freakishly long toes that resemble bony skeletal fingers. I don't want to see that. That's just gross.

Okay, here's my contribution to the "no skirts" rule:

It's not just mini-skirts that are the problem...

I think the problem is people getting dressed in the dark. 'Cause if she knew what she looked like, she would NOT have left the house.
