Fireworks from the Sheraton North of Disneyland

When my cheapo AP is blocked out I sometimes watch the fireworks from the Sheraton north of Disneyland off of Ball Rd. I think this is the closest you can get without being in the park or getting killed. It's probably as close as you would be if you were watching the show from small world, maybe closer. I took some pictures to give people some idea of the view.

You can find them all in this directory (the ones from 04-08-07 are better): http://www.spokkerjones.com/fireworks/

Here are a few of my favorites. Click for big.

The blasts are deafening and the ash rests gently on your head. It's the best way to watch the fireworks if you can't get into the park, especially if you're such a nerd that you have the soundtrack CD to play from your car.

Parking is free for the first 30 minutes.

If you see a cute yellow lab puppy with a yellow cape, WAVE! It might be us! (Or it may be someone else that lurks here!) Thank you for asking before you pet! Next trip, Dec 22-Jan 3rd.

Yeah but my dog likes to watch fireworks but they don't let him into the park because he is lazy and would never help anyone

Here are some more pictures resized for thread use. The directory has much larger images.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

It's being fired and I was using a slow shutter speed. Here's a close up.

I think a dud might have fallen to the ground and exploded though. Here's a huge cloud of smoke that appeared at the end of the show. It exploded suddenly behind the guard checkpoint and to the west of the launchers.

It was pretty alarming. The picture is a little blurry because I wanted to get a picture before the smoke went away.

Here's the main launchpad where they shoot the aeriel shells. It's right in the middle.

Behind the north berm are several platforms where they shoot off shooting stars. Here's a picture of one of them.

    Another angle.

There are also some launchers behind the Toontown hills facade. They are the blue things I believe.

Wooow. It exploded on the sidewalk?

I really liked the second one you posted. It makes me think of Star Tours (I don't know why).

    Thanks for this!

I don't know for sure what happened. But that's what it looked like.

It reminds you of Star Tours because it's from the Star Tours part!
