It's just a little bit different from the actual song on the soundtrack.

"When you wish upon a star.....
'To all who come to this happy place.... Welcome!'

    Welcome to our family time,
    Welcome to our brotherly time,
    We're happy giving and taking,
    To the friends we're making,
    There's nothing we won't do.

    Welcome to our family time,
Welcome to our happy to be time,
    This is a festival,
You know and best of all,
We're here to share it all.

    Remembering good times together,
With someone dear to your hearts (dear to your hearts),
    Finding love, planning the future,
Telling stories and laughing with friends,
    Precious moments you never forget.

    This has to be,
    The most beautiftul,
The most peaceful place I've ever journeyed to (Can you feel the love tonight),
    It's nothing like,
    I've ever seen before. (WHOOOOOA)

Welcome to our family time (Tale as old as time),
    Welcome to our brotherly time,
We're here giving and taking to the friends we're making,
    There's nothing we won't do.

Welcome to our family time (Someday i'll be),
Welcome to our happy to be time (part of your world),
    This is a festival,
You know that best of all,
    We're here to share it...
    Best of all,
We're here to share it all!"

The stuff in parentheses are the backup singers. I love that they put several of the units' themes in the song. We have Pinocchio in the beginning. Then Lion King. Beauty and the Beast. And Little Mermaid. Too bad they couldn't think of something for Alice. haha.

I love the Parade of Dreams!!

    Thanks

I was wondering, because it sounds like there were some extra verses and words compared to the original brother bear lyrics...

    thanks

Actually, it's "I've ever *been* to".

The version of "Welcome" in the parade only really uses the chorus and part of the bridge of the full song that was in "Brother Bear". There are a couple of verses in the original song that aren't used in the parade at all. I actually wish they'd have used the rest of the bridge, even if they might need to tweak it a bit - I think it fits well with the theme.

Here's the rest of the bridge, which comes after "It's nothing like I've ever seen before":

When I think how far I've come, I can't believe it
    And yet I see it
    In them I see family
I see the way we used to be

haha.. you've been TOLD! It's "been" in the real song, but like I said... the parade music is different in several parts.

    Another example is:
instead of "Remembering good times together" as in the parade track, the real song has "Remembering loved ones departed." That wouldn't have fit well into the parade.

Sure it would. It's supposed to be for walt heh.

they also pop in pinocchio, lion king, beauty and the beast, and the little mermaid into parts.
when you wish upon a star - in the very beginning.
can you feel the love to... - in the slow interlude,
tale as old as time - after welcome to our family in the 2nd to last verse
someday i'll be, part of your world - between welcome to our family in last verse

Aww.. i guess it would since it is supposedly Walt's parade.

And sorry to burst your bubble, but I did mention those little parts for Pinocchio, LK, B&B, and Little Mermaid in my huge long post with the lyrics to the song. But still wanna know why they couldn't have fit some Alice song in there... hehhe... wouldn't it be funny if they sang, in that pop voice of theirs, "Off with her head!!!" hahaha. that would've been great.

Have I mentioned that I'm obsessed with the Parade of Dreams?...

Nope, POD is not on the 6-disc set. It's not released yet.
I think there was some other thread in this forum where the people were starting a petition to have them release the music. I personally hope they release it soon cuz I can't get enough of this parade!

    "WELCOME TO OUR FAMILY TIME!"

Well, that's weird, because I sing along with the parade, and I sing "been", and I don't recall it being different than what they were singing. "Journeyed" wouldn't seem to fit because there are too many syllables. Guess I'll have to listen more next time I hear it. But as much as I like the parade version, I still like the original better, especially the version by the Blind Boys.

I have little doubt that they WILL release the music, petition or not. I was a bit surprised to not see it on the 6 disc set however. I wonder if it was due to not having a completed soundtrack available in the format they wanted when the set went to be mastered.
