Here's hoping the effect looks convincing enough outdoors and in the daylight.
Didn't they try that at one time and found the effect didn't work well at all?

Yes. Perhaps they've tinkered with the technique, and got it to work convincingly.

I heard the story behind the blaze is getting an update too. The guy tripping and setting his own cabin ablaze is being modified to "The settler just returned from the Pooh ride and has set his own cabin ablaze"

"The settler just saw DCA and..."
(Sorry. I did give up bashing DCA for lent, though.)

PS...I sure will be glad if/when the burning cabin is restored!

I'm convinced that if they could give a Pirates makeover to Space Mountain they would. LET'S SYNERGIZE THE F OUT OF THIS COASTER YEAHH!!!!!Having something to look at on the train is a nifty side effect of this foolish pirate island makeover but it's still part of the ever growing pirate epidemic. It has nothing to do with the strength of the concept but the fact that hey, the pirate movie is popular so let's build more pirate crap in the park.
The powers that be did introduce space pirates into Tland during the Pirates and Princess Party so your not too far off.

I hope so as well, but I have a suspicion that we will see a simulated fire similar to the POTC's Spanish Town scenes...not only for safety concerns (with all of the surrounding greenery), but also to reinforce the unholy (--couldn't resist) marriage of POTC and TSI.
