When our kids were young, it was the Saga Inn, and we stayed there on most trips. It had the shortest walk (through the parking lot) into the park at the time. The walk is even shorter now, though not as short as a few others.

I had booked a non-smoking king. The room was on the first floor very near the front entrance. Here's what it looked like inside:

There are a several gift shops, a pizza take-out, and foo-foo coffee place on the premises, and Tony Roma's is next door. I wouldn't mind staying there again. (And Ramada is on the same point system as Hojo's and several other chains.)

Re: Trekkie Dad's Road Trip Part I--Disneyland

Well instead of doing my own trip report I've just been piggybacking my pics on everyone else... why should Trekkie not be picked on too!

I'm glad I got a chance to finally meet you!! Sorry we didn't have a lot of time to hang out and kept playing phone tag at the end of the day! There will just have to be a next time!

My first meeting of Trekkie Dad!!

I give you... the backside of wate....I mean Trekkie!!! (With his wife next to him!)

Trekkie takes a picture! Way in the back in the blue shirt you can see Tiggerfan. I think we actually ended up with 42 in the line because someone else joined us. Yes, the line of MiceChatters really was that long!!

I also have a great pic of Trekkie and PrincessButtercup together. But I won't get ahead of myself.

Re: Trekkie Dad's Road Trip Part I--Disneyland

OK, time to get on withe the report. The second meet was at 4:00, because that's when Princess Buttercup promised to be there. She's the one on the left.

I have visited PB at her home and even gone riding with her, but we had never been to Disneyland at the same time. But I digress. PB and several others had FPs for Indy, so Jimmie and I hung out at the Disney Gallery. I took a few shots of the crowds from up there.

They weren't out yet, so we went to the Adventureland bazaar. Did you know there is a live bird in the shop?

Then we waited for the "single riders" to exit Pirates. PB can tell you about the CM that got run over by a scooter. She witnessed the whole thing. Then the lot of us did HM and Pooh (or did we "Pooh" after dinner?). Oh well here's a couple of shots at dinner at the French Market:
    That's Wally in the center.

I was sure I had met him long ago under a different handle.

    Coheteboy and Mousercise:

Coheteboy is eating an "edible" decoration from the dessert and trying not to break his teeth. I noted that paraffin wax is edible but not very nutricious.

I left to get my sweatshirt, and when I got back in the park, not much had happened while I was gone. We did get in yet another ride on Space Mountain, followed by Buzz and Star Tours.

The matterhorn was down, and the line for Peter Pan was too long, and I kept playing phone tag with Penguinsoda. The others had decided to continue the meet at Lost Bar, but Jimmie and I decided to call it a night.

The next morning, we went in at "opening" (quotes because of early entry), and had breakfast at Cafe Orleans. I took a couple shots of TSI. Here's the better one.

We were to meet with PB and Quiltmaker at 9, but PB overslept and called to apologize. Since Jimmie and I were planning to finish our morning at DCA, we gave Quiltmaker the Indy FPs we had collected and said goodbye. Jimmie and I went into DCA to ride Soarin' and Monsters and do some final shopping. PB was going to meet us there but had more delays, so we bid a hasty goodbye by guest relations. We went back to our hotel, loaded up, and continued on our road trip. But that will be reported in another thread.

    THE END!

    TD...two things...

First, I love that picture of me and Wolfy..we had fun riding Indy together that day!

Second, I saw that CM this weekend and she seemed to be doing well....she didn't have a cast on her foot so I guess nothing was broken , but she was limping a little. If I could have , I would have gone up to her and said hi and told her I was glad she was okay after what happened to her. But she was working in a spot where it was better if I didn't. I'm just glad she was okay!

    Better late than never, Trekkiedad!

You and Jimmie were both so fun to hang out with. I very much enjoyed that day at Disneyland.

Here's some more Trekkiedad (and jimmie!)

At the French Market! Jimmie had a try at the 'edible disney' as well but yah... it wasn't very good at all!

    The Pooh after dinner...

    Trekkiedad's shirt inside pooh.

And hehe.... it was all Princess Buttercup!!!

We stayed at the Ramada Maingate.

Hey, Coheteboy, that reminded me--I think Jimmie and I went on Big Thunder three times that day. And Buttercup (aka screamer), what can you say? At least our hearing was spared by sitting behind her.

Yesterday's Big thunder ride was blissfully silent *heavenly siiiiigh*

Loved the pics and report - was great to see you guys again!!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
