    Disneyland vs. Tokyo Disney

Is it just me or does Tokyo Disney get better funding for their attractions? Looking at Christopher Merrits stuff and his wonderful ideas just makes me think that the corporate heads don't want to fund some of the bigger projects. But Tokyo Disney has some fabulous new rides such as Storm Rider and Journey to the Center of the Earth, etc. And they constantly have new entertainment brought out.

    What do you guys think?

Make sure to note that those rides are in DisneySea (which is the best themed non-magic kingdom Disney park) and not at Disneyland Tokyo. I agree with you, they are great rides and those parks do get more spending, however they are also not operating under the same economic factors that the parks in the states are. Here in the US, the corporate suits are into making stock holders happy where in Japan, I think they value the experience and their reputation as a company more.

And here I thought we were making a simple comparison between Anaheim and Tokyo's Disneyland. If you throw DisneySea into the equation you're opening a metric-ton canister of worms.

One thing you have to remember is that Disney licensed itsself to Oriental Land Co. OLC owns and operates the Tokyo Disney Resort.

All you have to do is compare Winnie the Pooh from Critter Country to Pooh's Hunny Hunt in TDL's Fantasyland and you'll see why people ask this question. Find a video on YouTube.

Hopefully the promised increased spending on American Disney parks will fix this problem of underfunding and underdelivering. Hopefully the new Submarine Voyage will break this trend.
