    Disneyland or DisneyWorld?

If you had a friend in Whita Falls Texas (halfway between DL and WDW) and they have never been to the two parks, which way would you send them and why, East to WDW or West to DL?

    Ah, the endless debate...

It's hard to pick one. They both have strong points. I'll keep it short. Go to WDW for more space but some less good attractions. Go to DL for less elbow room but some better things like Indy and the Matterhorn.

I thought people who have never been to either might enjoy a good read.
    Thanks.

Sure Liquidspaceman...if someone has never been I might recommend Disneyland first. Because it is smaller.

If you go to WDW first, you might expect the same scope at Disneyland, in which case you'll be disappointed. Going to DL first will help you be more open minded about WDW.

I'd say Disneyland, just because it is the orignial. Then they can go to WDW. (plus they could see all the 50th stuff at DL)

It's best to see the original first.

DL. It's the original. You have to see the original before you see what has stemmed from it.

I still emphasize about the scope of DL and WDW. Going to DL first is better. If you visit WDW you'll expect the same scope at DL and be sad. Don't ruin it. Go to DL first.

    Id say Disneyland for sure...
Its O.G.! I think its More "home-y"! Plus, I agree with MotorBoatCruise2005 that DLR should be experienced first to avoid the dissapointment of the smaller property and less parks. Ive been to both and I appreciated WDW for what is was cause I had been to DLR first.

But dont you think that the poll will be pulled to the DRL side since its in the DLR forum?...

I would send a casual fan to WDW for sure. It has much more to do and is great for a first Disney vacation. It's all inclusive.

I would send a hardcore person like us to Disneyland.

For those of you that have been to both DLR & WDW which do you prefer?

I'm thinking Disneyland because of the intimacy and is not as intimidating as WDW. For real WDW is as big as my city -San Francisco - 47 sq. Miles.

If DLR is not your cuppa (hard to fathom but for some people its not) you have a bunch of other lovely theme parks( Knotts, Universal) and then there are also the "Star Tours" and just the cache of SoCal. I know FL has its own stuff but Miami & South Beach are way far from Orlando for my taste to drive to on a Vaca.

and then there are the salamaders in FL ::SHUDDER::

I have been to both, and I prefer Disneyland really.

I don't like WDW's Studios or Animal Kingdom, I don't care for their Epcot much...and their Magic Kingdom isn't as good as DL is.

    Good point!

Your avatar is really disturbing (as are all the Jacko avatars on this site. I seriously almost puke when looking at them)
