I just think it's kinda sad that the news media had to make things sound worse than they actually were. They couldn't just say that the girl was uninjured, they had to say she escaped injury from the "saw-toothed" frond. As if an inch in either direction would have decapitated her. Anything to sensationalize.
Are you telling me that you built a theme park.. out of a vinery and a bear shaped mountain?!!?..

winds are job security for me

but on the serious side, or more serious side...I wonder how big the limb was to have gone thru the cover of the boat.

Doesn't DL have a on site arborist who checks the trees for disease and stuff?
Three-time MVP Larry Bird, noting that Bryant has been the NBA's premier player for years, told Sports Illustrated's Dan Patrick before this week's announcement, "When someone told me the other day that Kobe hadn't won an MVP trophy, it sort of made me feel like I wanted to throw mine away."

It is. I was watching the morning news and their little teaser was something about the happiest place on earth being unhappy or something, acting like someone died rather then a tree scratching the back of someone's neck.

I understand it was a palm frond and not a "limb". That being said, the fronds I've seen are usually 6' long and heacy enough to cause injury when dropped from tree height.

And the covers are just canvas on a pipe frame. Not at all hard to go through.

I don't think anyone could sue on this one. All Disney has to do is say it was a act of God and it will get dropped.

Although I hope this girls is alright, I can't resist joining in the tree-humor.

...Disneyland learned a valuable lesson because of this: you never know which of your fronds you can trust.

...It was actually a mistake made by Disney workers who were busy installing a Jack Sparrow AA in the area for a re-imagining of the attraction called: “A Jungle Cruise Through Dangerous Pirate Territory”

...The tree thought it was doing the girl a favor. After all, the tree has to listen to the same routine all day, every day.

...This was actually just a test of some of the stuff that will be used in the new boutique park. In the ultra-exclusive, totally immersive rides, stuff will fall on you all the time to make you feel like you’re really in danger. BECAUSE YOU WILL BE! Oh, the suspense!!!

...Nobody knew why they took the girl to the hospital. She had already been tree-ted.

Laughter is the best medicine. If she had died, we'd have waited a good week or so.

LOL, Great Sediment. Kinda like the advice I give my daughter. When you see a person fall don't laugh, ask if they are OK. If they are OK, it is officially hilarious!
