    A Carsland Question

Is Carsland a working title for the proposed new are for DCA, or is that what the new area is going to be called? I hope it changes towards a Route 66/Radiator Springs name.

^ That current lame area is supposedly going away once "Carsland" is ready. I hope it's real name is "Route 66". The Mother Road doesn't have to be just the desert. You can go to many places with Route 66. Like a bountiful valley farm...

We're talking about a rumored name for a rumored expansion? I don't think your going to get a definite answer. I think the name is fine, but just from the sound of it I think its just a Placeholder Name.

Carsland is the name from Disney's Annual Report. As with everything at Disney, everything is subject to change.

    Re: A Carsland Question

I would assume the "real" name will be something other than Carsland should the project get greenlit. It also depends on how they decide to handle the park overall. If they're sticking with a California as Walt first saw it theme, Route 66 is a little later on in history. That said, I personally would enjoy a much better Route 66 area of the park than the one we have currently.

    Re: A Carsland Question

I've been thinking about "Carsland" lately, and I'm just wondering how it fits in to a California-themed park. Throughout the whole movie, Lightning was set and focused on escaping Radiator Springs and getting to California. Now, if Radiator Springs was in California, why would he keep saying he has to get there, wouldn't he just say he has to get to the race!

Maybe I'm thinking about this too much, but I just don't see how it fits.

DCA is getting a TestTrack type ride themed to Cars. Route 66 ends in California. That's how it fits. I'm sure there are no other thoughts about theming than that. There are smaller attractions/rides rumored for this area so hopefully it will become the new, properly funded, Route 66 area for DCA. And if we get this land, DCA will be much more interesting than it is now. I'm guessing by 2010 DCA will be very different in terms of its "theme." I don't have any inside info, just a gut feeling that things will change and I wouldn't be shocked if the name of the park was altered either.

The parade path should be Route 66. Imagine if the whole park was linked by "one road" to explore, as if you are on a sightseeing trip, stopping at the stuff you want to see. I like how some of the park is already mapped as a road (i.e. Hollywood, and Grizzly Area) and I wish they would expand this theme into the park.

I think it's dangerous to theme an entire land to one franchise, but if it's done well I think it can be good.
I like A Bug's Land in DCA (except for there only being kiddie carnival rides), but it's always limited when you base a land off one movie.

Okay, I hate to be dense, I am sure I just missed it, but where is the "carsland" area supposed to be in DCA? I hate to ask, because I am sure if I was not so lazy I could find it with a touch of research!
