It's awesome, if you don't mind the wet. People stay away in droves.

I have been there in a light sprinkle but not full rain. When I was there it was really nice, seems like some people do stay away!
A little piece of heaven
Best day ever because everyone else stayed home. I'm thinking there were no more than about 10,000 people at the park the last time it rained while I was there. The rain went away around 2:00 PM, and it was empty the whole day. Didn't have to camp out for F!, walked on most of the rides, etc. I love to go to Disneyland in the rain.
Going to DL in the rain is awesome. The park isnt busy at all.

I was seriously just going to post this very question. I personally only been once and it was awesome. The park was so empty it was great.
Agreed! I have been there several times in the rain and it was fun if you don't mind being wet. Some things get modified of course like the parades & certain rides get shut down...so it can be a bummer if you are going for those things.
I feel bad for the "tourists" who have saved up and this will be their "one day" in DLR for their vacation and they come on a rainy day. But for anyone who goes their several times a year or more, the rain is great because it drives people out of the park for the most part.
Does the park alter operations in any way - i.e., wiping off seats or clearing puddles?

Love the rainy days at DLR. "Usually" means no crowds, lines, and gives you the chance to do things you normally dont fit into a normal day such as shows and less popular rides. It's also just a really calm, relaxing feeling at the park on those days (days like today).-

Disneyland + Rain = AWESOME!!!

Currently raising funds for the AMAZING Give Kids The World for their annual Coasting for Kids event. Any amount would go a long way in helping a family enjoy an amazing Orlando vacation. You can donate on my page.
As far as the crowds, there aren't any; just like everyone else mentioned. It's a great time to be there.
I do recommend having some sort of rain gear, like a jacket and pants; especially the pants. Every time you sit down on any ride that goes outdoors your butt gets wet. Not fun!
Some rides close. The parade is severly altered...as in the characters pile onto the big bus and drive by waving at you instead of doing a parade. Sometimes the fireworks show is cancled depending on the wind that comes with the rain.
I've never seen any seat wiping or puddle clearing though.
Depending on how bad the rainfall, some rides might be closed, like the teacups and Alice. Wiping seats will probably depend on the CM, amount of rain and type of attraction. Custodial is suppose to get rid of any standing water and mop inside the shops as needed.
Sounds like something I'd like to experience - hopefully the rain will stay in the area for another day - we sure need it! Thanks everyone for weighing in on the subject.

I love rainy days at Disneyland!
It's calm and for some reason you get to see a different side to it.
